Description

The company makes hemodynamic and electrophysiology recording systems for invasive cardiology. Its systems use signal processing, clinical features and algorithms to help treat complex cardiac conditions, and they support smoother workflows and more complete documentation so clinicians can deliver patient care.

This is a senior architect role that combines system-wide architecture with hands-on coding. You will shape technical direction for the product line, help lead system engineering, and stay involved in design and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture across subsystems and help set the product's technical direction.
  • Write and deliver code for new features and product improvements.
  • Understand the full product, its subsystems, and how they depend on each other.
  • Forecast future technical needs and tie them to the technology strategy.
  • Lead or take part in design reviews and technical discussions with the team.
  • Learn the clinical domain, assess the current design, and build a roadmap from current state to future state.
  • Use AI tools as part of your everyday work.
  • Work with cross-functional groups to gather requirements and shape software design.
  • Collaborate with global teams on software development.
  • Apply technical and clinical expertise to innovation and quality initiatives.
  • Coach developers on design, architecture, and change planning, and exchange design feedback in both directions.
  • Measure application performance and improve it through design changes, code updates, and sound coding practices.
  • Make sure work meets the quality system and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a STEM field, plus 10+ years of software development experience.
  • 10+ years of object-oriented design and programming, including 10+ years of C++ and several years of C.
  • Advanced C++, including templates, real-time operation, and multithreading.
  • MFC user interface programming.
  • Familiarity with Agile development.
  • A track record of building architecture across subsystems.
  • Software development experience on Microsoft Windows platforms.
  • Daily use of AI in software development, including knowing how to use and build the AI skills it needs. Fluent with models in company-approved tools such as Claude or ChatGPT.
  • A self-driven leader and team player who can work with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to discuss a broad range of technical and operational topics with subject matter experts.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management tools such as Git and ClearCase.
  • Experience delivering design and tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet product release goals.
  • Desired: a master's degree in computer science.
  • Desired: healthcare experience, especially in cardiology, building software and architecting medical products.
  • Desired: more than 15 years of industry software experience in C++, C, or another object-oriented language.
  • Desired: experience building Windows desktop applications with Qt,.NET MAUI, or similar UI frameworks.
  • Desired: knowledge of HL7, DICOM, and other medical protocols.
  • Desired: knowledge of networking protocols such as SMB, MLLP, and MQTT.
  • Desired: experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Desired: quick learning and experience designing advanced software with several subsystems.
  • Desired: background in designing and developing hardware subsystems.
