Description

The company is now a subsidiary of SMX, a combination that adds to its capacity for digital transformation work.

The company works across the future remote sensing landscape, covering airborne, ground-based, and orbital systems in LEO, MEO, HEO, and GEO.

It builds, integrates, and supports customer mission systems, including real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization.

The company works with other leading firms in the industry to deliver proven capabilities for customers' most urgent needs.

The team is small and fast-moving, and it is growing to meet demand in remote sensing. It is hiring an embedded software engineer with deep C++ experience for its mission data processing group.

The work centres on high reliability, high performance C++ for real-time embedded applications. It involves tuning processing speed and making design trade-offs within tight size, weight, and power limits.

The role suits someone who can work with limited oversight and wants to handle hard remote sensing data and help customers build practical solutions for their go-to-market plans.

Responsibilities

  • Work with solutions architects and algorithm engineers to build and tune C++ applications for real-time mission data processing signal chains.
  • Study data from remote sensing providers, such as EO/IR and hyperspectral sources, and adjust signal processing chains for specific data and targets.
  • Help shape a signal processing architecture that is sound, repeatable, and easy to adapt.
  • Design solutions for low size, weight, and power deployments, such as Versal ACAP devices.
  • Document and test all solutions thoroughly.
  • Build and use CI/CD pipelines that make quality part of every stage of the software development life cycle.
  • Work with team members and leads to hit project milestones.
  • Follow the applicable corporate and DoD processes and standards for quality, compliance, and security.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • 8+ years of high performance C++ software engineering on Linux.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware acceleration.
  • Ability to document and explain software designs clearly.
  • Working knowledge of version control, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone and within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • A habit of keeping up with industry trends and learning new things.

Conditions

Desired: experience with Xilinx/AMD Versal ACAP platforms or similar, which is highly desired.

Desired: experience with the Vitis Unified Software Platform and Vivado Design Suite.

Desired: familiarity with FPGA design and hardware description languages such as VHDL and Verilog.

Desired: experience turning complex algorithms into production software.

Desired: experience on DoD or DoW projects.

Desired: a current US Secret security clearance.

Desired: strong CI/CD skills.

Desired: experience with other languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Desired: experience with AI-assisted software development tools and methods.

The application deadline is November 30, 2026.

The proposed salary is $160,000 to $210,000 USD. Pay depends on location, Federal Government contract labor category, prior experience, skills, education, and certifications.

The selected applicant may face a background investigation and or education verification.

The company does not sponsor new applicants for work authorization or immigration support for this role, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, E-2, E-3, L-1, O-1, or any EAD or other work authorization that requires employer immigration support.

The company is an equal opportunity employer, including for people with disabilities and veterans.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay, learning and development opportunities, and benefits.
