Description

The company is rethinking how legal work gets done, and builds its product with lawyers rather than just for them. It serves top legal teams who expect precision and speed.

The product is an AI-native workspace that helps legal professionals work faster and more accurately. It analyses thousands of documents in minutes and runs complete workflows, so teams can spend their time on judgment, strategy and results.

The company has more than 2,100 customers in over 80 countries, including leading law firms and a major bank. It has reached over $200M in ARR, has teams in Europe, North America and APAC, and has grown through acquisitions of Qura, Walter AI, Graceview, Cadastral and Wexler.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead by example, writing code yourself while coaching a strong group of engineers. You will design and ship features that make legal work easier, push for technical quality, and help shape a product used by forward-thinking law firms worldwide. This role suits someone who enjoys building software and developing both people and systems as the team grows.

Responsibilities

  • Build complete features across the full stack
  • Keep writing code in the codebase while growing your team
  • Set architecture and technical direction, with a high standard for quality, security and performance
  • Work with Product and Design to deliver value quickly and reliably
  • Review code and mentor engineers at every level
  • Promote good practice in development, DevOps and continuous improvement
  • Work with Node.js, React, Azure, AWS and Kubernetes
  • Look after your team's health and efficiency

Requirements

  • An experienced fullstack or backend engineer with 1-3 years of leadership experience
  • Able to write code day to day while also setting technical direction
  • Experienced in building scalable products and owning complex systems from start to finish
  • A clear, empathetic communicator
  • Motivated to mentor others and help them grow
  • Comfortable across backend, frontend and infrastructure
  • Curious and pragmatic, always looking for better ways to build and ship
  • Gets things done, accepting that building a successful company is often unglamorous, demanding work with long hours
  • Solves the most pressing problems on their own initiative
  • Works well in a fast-paced setting where answers are unclear and there are few set processes
  • The interview process matches the one for software engineers, including a coding task and a technical interview, followed by extra steps for the engineering manager role
