Senior SAP SD/ABAP Technical Consultant F/M

Description

Senior technical consultant role combining SAP SD and ABAP work on S/4HANA with coordination of a third-party product from a vendor.

Responsibilities

• Turn requirements gathered with process experts into functional specifications and technical designs for SAP SD.
• Design and build S/4HANA solutions that mix configuration with extensions such as BAdIs, user exits and the Enhancement Framework, writing the ABAP code yourself.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for defects and incidents, covering debugging, error analysis and transport problems.
• Build interfaces between S/4HANA and external logistics, e-commerce and EDI systems using IDoc/ALE, RFC and Web APIs.
• Advise international teams and architects, share knowledge and mentor colleagues.
• Take part in functional and technical testing and in production deployment.
• Coordinate the third-party product with the vendor, running regular technical reviews of prerequisites, software updates, SAP upgrades, customizing and design.
• Make sure the product is part of the end-to-end O2C flow, including Source-to-Pay interfaces where needed.
• Investigate defects in the product together with test teams and the vendor.
• Translate between developers, both internal and at the vendor, and non-technical business users. Vendor training and onboarding are provided.

Requirements

• You write production ABAP yourself, including reports, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits and RFC, IDoc or Web API interfaces, and you can debug and analyse existing code.
• You have worked on S/4HANA implementation projects and understand its extensibility model.
