Cloud Engineer Senior

Description

You will join the Timișoara team of a service provider for enterprise and IT solutions, covering software-based solutions, consulting and management, AI, automation and customer experience.

This senior role centres on running secure, optimised Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services, from deployment and configuration through to ongoing support, with automation built on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) so applications stay reliably hosted.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure and maintain Azure compute, storage, application hosting and core cloud infrastructure.
• Build and run Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, tight access controls and security settings.
• Deploy and host applications and containers on Azure App Services, AKS, Container Apps and Functions.
• Automate provisioning and routine tasks using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell and CI/CD pipelines.
• Watch system health, look into alerts, troubleshoot incidents and carry out operational runbooks.
• Apply security good practice, fix Defender for Cloud findings and enforce RBAC and Azure Policy compliance.
• Find and act on opportunities to improve performance, reliability and cloud cost efficiency.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures and knowledge articles for the team.
• Work closely with architects, developers, security and IT operations to deliver scalable, resilient Azure solutions.

Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable field.
• English language skills.
• 3-5 years of hands-on work deploying, configuring, managing and supporting production Azure infrastructure.
• Solid experience hosting applications on Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Functions, and AKS or Container Apps.
• Practical skills with VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Azure Firewalls, Load Balancers, RBAC, PIM and Key Vault.
• Proficiency in Terraform or Bicep for IaC, plus scripting in PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps: Git workflows, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines and automated cloud deployment.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting, and writing KQL queries in Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• A strong grasp of Azure governance frameworks, resource tagging, Azure Policy and Azure Cost Management.

Conditions

The standard contract includes home office under the Smart Work model.

You may be asked to come to the office occasionally for trainings, workshops and team events; your leader can give details.

Working hours are flexible where personal and business needs allow; discuss this with your leader.

You can work from outside Romania for up to 30 days per year, subject to conditions; contact HR for support.

Candidates recruited from more than 50 km away receive a one-time relocation package of 2500 RON, paid with the first salary, subject to conditions.
