Description

The company is a data labeling provider for healthcare and life sciences AI, serving startups, research labs, pharmaceutical companies and large technology firms. It uses a crowd of over 100k labelers and gamified, collective-intelligence annotation platforms to deliver scalable, high-quality datasets. Backers include Y Combinator, Matrix and Accel, and the company raised a Series B led by SignalFire.

This Sales Engineer (Partnerships) role is the technical lead for the partner channel. You will make sure deals closed through partners result in deliveries customers can depend on. You will work with Partnerships, Sales, Operations, Engineering and Legal, acting as technical owner and facilitator for partner projects from requirements review through dataset QC and delivery. You report to the Senior Sales Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical contact when a partner buys annotation, evaluation or benchmarks, including scoping and setup.
  • Review datasets against customer requirements with little supervision, and help build a repeatable QC process that coordinates de-identification, clinician review and deeper quality assurance when needed.
  • Run and manage data delivery with little supervision, working directly in AWS, GCP, Azure and SFTP to move large data volumes. Check completeness and integrity before anything is sent.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, pass along customer feedback, and work hands-on with partners, Operations and Engineering to drive revisions and the sending and technical receipt of data.
  • Review the technical scope in customer and partner contracts, help document it, and work with Sales, the Head of Partnerships and Legal to resolve mismatches before work starts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical work in a client-facing role, such as solutions or sales engineering, technical project or program management, or data operations. Fast-paced environments are preferred. Healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Proven project management experience running several technical projects at once, owning timelines, stakeholders and handoffs with little or no oversight. Strong presentation skills, including leading live demos.
  • Experience as the technical point of contact for customers or partners, including handling their feedback directly.
  • Required: experience in data annotation, dataset curation or model evaluation. Healthcare data experience is a plus.
  • Do not meet every requirement? The company encourages you to apply anyway if this role interests you, as your experience may still fit this or another role.
  • Preferred skills: moving large data volumes between systems with little oversight across S3, GCP, Azure and SFTP, and verifying integrity with checksums and manifests.
  • Preferred skills: SQL and scripting, such as Python or shell, to inspect, validate and package data.
  • Preferred skills: reviewing datasets against specifications, building or improving QC processes, and translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders, including handling quality feedback from annotation, evaluation and data buyers.
  • Preferred skills: reviewing contracts and SOWs for technical scope, with familiarity with data licensing, usage rights and HIPAA de-identification. BAA or DUA experience is a plus.
  • Preferred skills: strong organization and independence, running many open deals and deliveries at once while keeping records current.
  • Strongly preferred: familiarity with healthcare data types and standards, including DICOM, EHR, claims, HL7 and FHIR.
