HPE Networking Pre-Sales Systems Engineer

This is a remote, teleworker role, so you will mostly work from home.

The company helps customers gather insight from their data and applications across edge and cloud environments. Its networking business builds AI-driven products with a focus on campus, branch, mobility and IoT networks for large enterprises upgrading their infrastructure.

As a pre-sales systems engineer, you provide technical support to sales from first contact through to deal closure. You help clients and prospects with solutions built around their business needs, and you present how the company's solutions compare with competing options.

You will work with Territory Managers to qualify leads and turn them into engagements. The role suits career-level people with broad networking infrastructure experience, and you will gather client information to shape solutions that fit, working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Build a technology roadmap for each client assigned to you, focused on the company's priority networking areas.
• Write technology solutions and proposals that fit each customer's business requirements.
• Run proof of concept projects that show the company's technology meets or exceeds customer requirements.
• Track competitor offerings so you can position the right products and highlight where the company is stronger.
• Work with internal and external experts to anticipate customer needs and help develop solutions.
• Contribute to proposals and handle the technical side of closing deals in competitive situations.
• Build relationships with channel partners to grow sales through them.
• Actively support the opportunity pipeline and push deals through to closure.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or have significant experience in networking technical or pre-sales roles.
• Have 4+ years of technical work experience, including pre-sales or post-sales work.
• Have deep networking experience across routing, switching, Wi-Fi, security, SASE and network management platforms, both on premises and in the cloud.
• Hold networking certifications such as those from HPE, Aruba, Juniper or Cisco.
• Have experience with network access security tools such as HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE or Forescoute.
• Have built solution sales offers that combine several product and service portfolios in a highly competitive market.
• Communicate clearly and persuasively, with strong customer-facing skills, and turn product knowledge into business value for the customer.
• Work well in a team, with a hands-on, customer-first approach to delivering your business plan.

Conditions

This is a remote, teleworker role, primarily working from home.

The expected US salary range in Idaho is USD 146,000 to 343,000 per year, covering base pay and target sales compensation at 100% of the sales plan, split 75% base and 25% target sales pay.

The actual offer may differ based on location, work experience, education, training or skill level.
