Description

The company is building a full banking stack for startups, aiming to make finance simpler to use. It needs many skilled people in information security, compliance, risk, and data governance, and this role helps hire them as the company grows.

You will own full-cycle recruiting for foundational functions that keep the company running and scaling. You will work as an embedded partner to the teams you support, defining specialized profiles, understanding difficult talent markets, and helping build teams that protect the company, its customers, and the wider financial system.

Many of these searches have no standard playbook. You will source creatively, design interview processes for roles the company has never hired for, use market data to find people whose experience crosses disciplines, and help those candidates see the impact they could have.

The company is a fintech firm, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services are provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

Responsibilities

  • Run full-cycle hiring for technical and analytical roles in Risk Strategy, Compliance Data Modeling and Analytics, and Information Security, and support engineering and wider Compliance and Risk searches as needed.
  • Learn the company's products, business model, and risk and regulatory setting well enough to tie hiring priorities to business needs.
  • Work with hiring managers to define success, separate core technical and domain skills from those that can be taught, and set up interview processes.
  • Source for niche talent pools, including people with backgrounds in data science, analytics, security, engineering, and financial services.
  • Advise hiring leaders using talent maps, market data, and recruiting metrics, and help them set realistic expectations.
  • Build lasting relationships with candidates and explain their possible impact at the company in a tailored way.
  • Promote inclusive hiring and help interviewers make consistent, evidence-based decisions.
  • Lead searches for new or changing roles, adding structure to unclear briefs and adjusting your approach as you learn.
  • Use recruiting data to find bottlenecks, grow pipelines, and improve hiring results and candidate experience.
  • Move between teams and role types as priorities change, bringing the same energy and care to each search.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience and 5 years of total experience in talent, people, or HR work.
  • A record of hiring for technical or quantitative roles such as compliance analytics, data science, information security, or similar.
  • Direct experience recruiting for compliance and risk teams in fintech or financial services, with an understanding of how domain knowledge and regulation shape these searches.
  • Willingness to learn technical concepts, discuss candidate backgrounds with specialist hiring teams, and turn complex needs into sourcing and assessment plans.
  • Willingness and ability to take on engineering searches when needed, including information security engineering. Experience recruiting engineers is a plus.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and executives, influencing hiring decisions, and acting as a trusted advisor through a search.
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills, including building pipelines for specialized, emerging, or confidential hiring.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, creative problem solving, and balancing competing priorities across functions and role types.
  • Empathy, kindness, and care, and an interest in building diverse, inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Clear, precise communication with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Interest in improving your workflow through data, automation, AI, and process changes.
  • Experience with recruiting tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Greenhouse, Gem, Ashby, Metaview, or similar.
