Description

The company makes powersports vehicles and boats, and this role supports its quality work with data science and AI. The team works in an agile, office-based setting where timely analysis and escalation matter.

The senior quality data scientist builds scalable analytics and AI solutions that turn complex data into insights on quality risks and product and operational performance. You will translate quality needs into production-ready solutions with business and technical teams, while keeping governance, privacy, security, explainability, human oversight, and documentation in place. The work is shaped by product quality, business risk, regulatory requirements, and executive priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Build datasets, dashboards, metrics, models, and workflows for quality monitoring, risk detection, and performance tracking.
  • Use statistical process control, reliability and warranty analysis, root-cause methods, predictive modeling, experimentation, and text analytics to find product, manufacturing, safety, and customer risks.
  • Build, validate, deploy, and monitor analytical and machine-learning solutions that surface root causes and emerging trends and drive business improvements with clear recommendations.
  • Create AI-enabled quality tools using generative AI, natural language processing, information extraction, anomaly detection, predictive models, and workflow automation.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to choose use cases and turn requirements into solutions, weighing user value, business impact, technical feasibility, and feedback from each iteration.
  • Share findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommended actions with technical and non-technical audiences, and track adoption, performance, operational impact, and realized value.
  • Offer technical guidance, peer review, and knowledge sharing on data science, statistical modeling, and AI practices to raise solution quality and team capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Experience building, validating, deploying, and monitoring AI or machine-learning solutions for complex business problems.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, statistics, predictive modeling, data preparation, and visualization, and the ability to explain solutions and findings clearly.
  • Preferred: experience applying data science or AI in quality, manufacturing, engineering, service, warranty, safety, customer experience, or another regulated environment.
  • Preferred: experience using Snowflake for machine-learning and AI development and deployment, including building user-facing apps with Streamlit.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office with frequent interaction across business functions, technical teams, and leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%, depending on business needs and project requirements.
