Senior Project Manager

Description

The Senior Technology Project Manager leads the full delivery of complex technology projects using a structured project management process. You will work closely with business partners, team members, vendors and technology functions.

You will own one or more projects running at the same time and answer for their scope, schedule, budget, staffing, risks, issues and dependencies.

The company provides medical insurance for cats and dogs across North America.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic technology initiatives by setting project plans, assigning resources and preparing teams for organizational change.
• Set success measures for projects and manage scope, priorities, timelines, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, resource limits and status reporting.
• Choose suitable delivery methods, such as Agile or Waterfall, for each project.
• Keep the customer at the center while coordinating with business stakeholders, vendors, contractors and technology staff.
• Use negotiation, influence, creativity and sound judgment to reach agreed outcomes on scope, schedule, cost, budget, issues and risks.
• Resolve project conflicts, and escalate through the right channels when needed to clear blockers.
• Build solid working relationships across business and technology teams so projects run smoothly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Management Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of project or program management in a professional technology setting, including leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with SDLC and implementation methods, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience with tools such as Planview, Microsoft Project or Portfolio for Jira.
• PMP, PgMP, Scrum, SAFe or a similar certification preferred.
• Ability to drive teamwork, communication and commitment across cross-functional teams with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the skill to adjust your style for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and apply analytical thinking in unclear situations.
• Detail-oriented, flexible and adaptable.
• Quick learner who adapts to change and seeks out information proactively when needed.
• Commitment to delighting the customer.

Conditions

Base salary is $110,000 to $120,000 USD for a full-time role.

Eligible for monthly bonuses in addition to base salary.

Hybrid role based in the Seattle, WA area, with in-office work at least 3 days a week at the casual, pet-friendly office.
