Senior Project Manager-MEP Building Automation Controls

Description

The company provides consulting services to a financial services client account, helping advance its strategic business goals.

This role sits in the Project Management function and acts as Owner's Representative, managing projects from initiation through completion.

The work covers MEP upgrades and installations in occupied smart building offices, with a focus on BMS (Building Management Systems) automation controls. Projects are onsite and regional.

The schedule is hybrid with onsite time, and includes roughly 20% out-of-town regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage every phase of multiple real estate projects: planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.
• Work directly with clients on the scope of work, delivery resources, cost estimates and budget, work plan schedule and milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
• Report on project progress to the Project Management Director and other business leaders.
• Coach and manage other Project Managers so they build deep knowledge across most or all areas of the function.
• Define delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the qualification process, then run complex requests for proposals, evaluate bids and recommend resources to clients.
• Keep all workstreams on schedule and resolve or escalate issues.
• Run regular meetings to review status on active and pending projects.
• Work with the project team to develop solutions and guide them through implementation and completion.
• Look for and build better methods to meet individual and department goals.
• Share expertise in your own field and across other subject areas within the function.
• Influence customer, operational, project, and service outcomes across multi-discipline teams, within functional policies that shape procedures.
• Contribute to new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that support functional goals.
• Set an example through your conduct, and persuade senior and differently-minded stakeholders to adopt new viewpoints by anticipating their objections.

Requirements

• You must be currently authorized to work in the United States, now and in the future, without visa sponsorship.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, along with 8-10 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in place of the degree.
• PE, LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designations are preferred.
• Owner's Representative experience for a Class A financial or professional services client, and infrastructure or MEP experience, are required.
• Strong knowledge of BMS controls, building automation, and smart buildings is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required, and knowledge of PM Web or similar project management software is needed.
• You need a proven record of working with senior leaders on strategy and of leading delivery resources on projects.
• You must be able to lead multiple projects or programs at different stages in a fast-moving, demanding setting.
