Senior Project Manager - Surface Transportation

This role is based in San Antonio or Austin, Texas, and the hire is immediate.

The team is a Surface Transportation program management group serving the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large programs, or a defined part of a larger program, supporting the overall Program Manager.
• Give regional technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery.
• Own overall financial results and delivery under the Program Management agreement.
• Spot high-risk areas early and act to improve program outcomes.
• Promote ethical and safe working practices.
• Help shape program management methods that set the company apart in the market.
• Work with regional leaders and market sector leaders to find new business and build solutions for it.
• Track long-term and disruptive trends in your field, and propose skill development and workforce plans for future capabilities.
• Help attract and retain talent in your area of expertise.

Requirements

• Minimum: a BA or BS plus 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience and/or education, including 2 years in leadership.
• Hold a Texas PE license.
• US citizenship is required for this role.
• Preferred: 15+ years directly managing GEC or PMC projects for TxDOT and other agencies, covering design-bid-build and design-build work.
• Preferred: proven ability to lead and administer GEC or PMC contracts well for agencies such as TxDOT.
• Preferred: experience as the main contact for TxDOT representatives and other clients, scoping projects, handling regulatory requirements and building lasting relationships.
• Preferred: managed scope, budget and schedule from proposal through final deliverables.
• Preferred: coordinated local governments, contractors, sub-consultants, utilities and other agencies so projects run smoothly and comply with requirements.
• Preferred: current TxDOT precertification in relevant work categories, obtained through the firm's administrative qualification with the TxDOT PEPS division.
