Senior Program Manager - Data Center Construction

Description

The company delivers large programmes across real estate, infrastructure and natural resources, and has done so for more than 75 years.

The team is looking for a senior project manager with previous experience on large construction projects, including data centre work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architects, engineers and supply chain partners so projects meet compliance requirements.
• Track critical milestones, spot risks early and act to prevent schedule slippage.
• Forecast key milestones and keep them up to date.
• Check that governance, processes and systems are followed, and apply best practice on every project.
• Watch several construction projects at once to confirm approved design standards are applied correctly.
• Oversee supplier interfaces through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Keep project information moving between the team through regular meetings and written updates.
• Write formal project status reports and any other reports needed.
• Manage and monitor local design teams against commissioning criteria.
• Give technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Respond quickly to requests for information from the site.
• Advise on cost control, value engineering and constructability where needed.
• Independently review status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Help build strong client relationships that can lead to new work.
• Advise project teams on approaches that meet both client and company objectives.
• Capture key information and lessons from each project.
• Find and make improvements to internal systems and processes.
• You may take on SOX control duties, which you must follow where they apply.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 to 7 years of relevant project management experience.
• Strong organisational and management skills, and the ability to work well with a wider team.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore and construction project management tools.
