Description

The role sits in the Faculty Information System at Interfolio, part of Elsevier. Interfolio builds products covering the full faculty lifecycle, used by academic leaders at more than 500 colleges and universities since 1999.

You will own a product or a large area of the system, shaping its strategy and guiding it from first idea through launch. The work involves cross-functional collaboration, decisions grounded in evidence, and steady iterative improvement.

Elsevier is a global information and analytics company serving researchers and healthcare professionals, combining publishing content and large data sets with analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and share a product vision and roadmap that match customer needs and business goals.
  • Rank opportunities by customer value, commercial potential, delivery effort, and technical limits.
  • Write business cases backed by evidence and take part in decisions on investment, pricing, and packaging where relevant.
  • Map how your product area fits into the wider institutional ecosystem and its workflows.
  • Find places where AI could improve customer workflows, and test whether they create business value.
  • Speak directly with faculty, researchers, and institutional users to learn their goals, workflows, and pain points.
  • Run discovery with design, research, and engineering colleagues, testing assumptions before committing to solutions.
  • Plan go-to-market and launch activities with marketing, sales, customer success, support, and other teams.

Requirements

  • Substantial product management experience, owning a product or a significant area within a complex product.
  • A record of taking products or capabilities from discovery to launch and ongoing improvement.
  • Strong customer discovery skills, and a history of turning insight into product strategy and delivery decisions.
  • Practical experience with SDD or an equivalent agentic product development approach.
  • Hands-on use of generative AI and AI assistants in product work, with examples of better quality, speed, or learning.
  • Good judgement on when to apply AI, how to assess its outputs, and when a human must review the result.
  • Experience working closely with engineering and design teams.
  • Enough technical knowledge to discuss SaaS products, APIs, integrations, data, and architecture trade-offs with engineers.

Conditions

Flexible hours: you can shift when you work during the day to fit your commitments and work when you are most productive.

The company supports a healthy work-life balance, with wellbeing programmes, shared parental leave, study assistance, and sabbaticals.

The company is committed to a fair and accessible hiring process. If you need an adjustment, use the Applicant Request Support Form or call 1-855-833-5120.
