Description

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Product to own and scale this function. This is one of the most important hires we will make as a company.

Novellia operates at the intersection of healthcare and consumer, where patient empowerment meets everyday life. We believe the best products in this space feel less like medical tools and more like things people actually want to use. The early team has been driving product decisions since day one. That's gotten us here. Now we need someone to take us from a great foundation and grow the org that carries us through Series B and beyond. One thing worth knowing: engineering and product have built something genuinely rare here, a tight, trust-based collaboration where technical and product thinking happen together, not in sequence. We care about preserving that as we scale. You are walking into a strong engineering and data team that will move fast and execute hard on the right vision. What we need now is the product org to lead the way.

You will report directly to the CTO and own product and product design end to end: strategy, roadmap, team, and execution. As you build the org, you will be in the work: setting direction, making calls, shipping. The team grows around you. You will sit on the leadership team and be a genuine voice in where this company goes, not just how it gets there.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

Develop a deep understanding of Novellia's users, market, and current product across both our healthcare and consumer surfaces

Absorb and sharpen the product strategy with the founding team, building on what exists and making it something the whole company can rally behind

Have a clear point of view on the product org Novellia needs to win, and be actively building toward it: hiring ahead of the need, developing the team you have, and thinking about structure before it becomes a problem

Evolve the ways of working across product and design so the team ships with rigor and speed as it grows

Ship something meaningful: a bet you own from framing through delivery that moves a real outcome

Become a trusted thought partner to the CTO, CEO, and Commercial team on where the product goes next

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy
  • Work with the founders to define and pressure-test where Novellia wins, across healthcare and consumer
  • Translate strategy into a roadmap with clear priorities and the reasoning behind them
  • Make the hard calls on what not to build, and more importantly, what to give up on when it's not working
  • Represent product in board conversations, partner discussions, and recruiting
  • Product & Design Execution
  • Own the full product development process from discovery through delivery
  • Set a high bar for product quality and design craft. You don't need to hold a Figma file, but you need taste and conviction
  • Partner closely with Engineering to ship reliably without losing speed
  • Maintain direct contact with users and customers. This is not a role that delegates learning
  • Team Building
  • Hire, develop, and retain a world-class product and design team as we scale
  • Build a culture of rigor, craft, and genuine accountability to outcomes, not output
  • Develop the people around you; create an environment where strong PMs and designers do their best work

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product, with meaningful time at early-stage or high-growth companies
  • Deep consumer product experience. You know what it takes to make something people genuinely love and come back to. Healthcare experience is a strong plus but not a requirement
  • You have found product-market fit, not inherited it. We are not looking for someone who joined a company that had already figured out what it was building and scaled from there. We want someone who was in the room when it was still unclear, made bets, got some wrong, and eventually cracked it, and can tell that story with specificity
  • Proven ability to grow and lead a product org, not just manage one at scale
  • Experience owning product design as well as product management
  • Track record hiring and developing strong product managers and designers in early-stage environments
  • Strong design sensibility. You set a high bar and know the difference between good and great
  • Direct, clear communicator who can operate at the executive level without losing the details
  • High ownership mindset. You notice what needs to be done and do it without being asked
  • Bonus
  • Background shipping products in real-world evidence, health data, or biopharma-adjacent contexts
  • Familiarity with health data standards and ecosystems: FHIR, CCDA, claims data, EHR/EMR integrations, or similar
  • Experience in a data-as-product environment, where the data itself is what you sell and shaping it into something a customer can buy and trust is part of the product work
  • A builder first: energized by 0-to-1 moments, not optimizing what already exists
  • Strategic without losing sight of execution. You zoom out and zoom in with equal ease
  • Direct and low-ego in collaboration; you give and receive feedback well
  • Motivated by hard problems where getting the product right genuinely matters
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and the pace of a fast-growing Series A company
  • You bring a point of view on the product, on the market, on what good looks like, and you defend it
  • You earn the respect of engineers, not just work alongside them. You understand how things get built and that makes you a better product thinker
  • You think about the org as part of the job, not a distraction from it. You're proactive about structure, hiring, and team health before they become problems
  • You outwork the problem. When something matters, you stay with it until it's righ
