The company works in defense, national security and space technology, and builds mission-critical solutions for customers.
This senior individual contributor role defines the vision, strategy and roadmap for a new AI-native software platform that is not yet released.
You will turn the needs of demanding, highly technical customers into platform capabilities, working directly with engineering and technical leadership from first idea through commercial launch.
The role sits in the Advanced Technology Group within the Strategic Growth and Technology Organization. That group defines and develops future technologies, with a focus on high-impact, high-return research, leap-ahead improvements to existing areas, and foundational technology for new markets.
The team is small and moves fast.
Responsibilities
Set the product vision, strategy and multi-horizon roadmap for the platform, and form a clear view of how agentic AI will evolve and where the company can stand out.
Run customer discovery and co-development with high-value design partners, and turn their workflows, operational problems and technical needs into product priorities.
Work closely with technical leads and engineers on scope, sequencing, architecture trade-offs and execution priorities, so that customer needs match what is technically feasible.
Write product requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria and technical specifications that let engineering execute efficiently and produce measurable customer results.
Define the platform's extensibility and developer experience, including APIs, SDKs, integrations, and tool and data connectors, so that internal teams, customers and partners can build on it.
Set success metrics and evaluation methods for agent quality, reliability, safety, latency, performance and cost.
Specify requirements for human-in-the-loop controls, governance, auditability, security and operational guardrails for autonomous systems used in high-consequence settings.
Track the agentic AI landscape, including foundation models, orchestration frameworks, developer platforms and new applications, and turn that intelligence into positioning and build, partner or buy recommendations.
Work with Growth, Business Development and executive leadership on packaging, pricing hypotheses, pilot structures, commercial strategy and scalable go-to-market plans.
Put instrumentation, adoption metrics and customer-value measures in place to guide fast, data-driven iteration from prototype to production.
Explain product strategy, technical capabilities, roadmap decisions and customer value to executives, customers, engineers and strategic partners.
Use AI tools yourself for research, analysis, requirements work and rapid prototyping to speed up discovery and decisions.
Work largely on your own in a small, fast-moving team, make product and technical trade-offs, and own adoption and customer outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Ten or more years of product management experience, including at least five years directly owning software platform products such as developer platforms, cloud services, APIs, SDKs or enterprise infrastructure from concept through launch and scale.
Proven experience taking AI or ML software products into production, including owning generative AI, large language model (LLM) or AI agent capabilities.
Deep understanding of modern agentic AI architecture, including LLM orchestration, multi-agent systems, tool and function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), retrieval and context engineering, memory, evaluation frameworks and agent observability.
Working familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and platforms such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry or equivalent tools.
Ability to weigh technical architecture and product design trade-offs with software engineers and technical leaders.
Solid grasp of the agentic AI market, including key providers, business models, adoption barriers, competition, and opportunities across the model, platform and application layers.
Proven experience serving complex enterprise, government or highly technical customers and using their input to shape and rank the roadmap.
Demonstrated ability to own strategy and delivery in a zero-to-one environment, working through ambiguity, using sound independent judgment and delivering measurable results.
Experience using AI tools to speed up product research, analysis, documentation and prototyping.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including writing clear product requirements and explaining complex technical ideas to executives and customers.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, which may be considered in place of a degree.
U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the required level.
Preferred: hands-on experience as a software engineer, machine learning engineer or solutions architect before moving into product management.
Preferred: product management experience at a leading AI, cloud computing or developer-platform company.
Preferred: experience building AI products in regulated, security-sensitive or mission-critical settings such as aerospace and defense, government, healthcare or financial services.
Preferred: familiarity with on-premises, air-gapped or accredited cloud deployments, including FedRAMP and Department of Defense Impact Levels.
Preferred: experience building products for technical professionals and domain experts, where the accuracy, reliability and verifiability of AI outputs matter most.
Preferred: experience setting pricing, packaging and go-to-market strategy for software platforms, APIs or usage-based products.
Preferred: a master's degree in a related technical field or an MBA.
Preferred: an active U.S. security clearance.
