Description

The company runs a card issuing platform that lets businesses issue cards, approve transactions and manage payment operations in real time. Clients include well-known brands in the new economy.

As Principal Product Manager on the Credit team, you will set the multi-quarter direction for the credit platform and the core services it provides.

You work as an individual contributor with no direct reports. You mentor teammates, set priorities across many stakeholders and weigh risk against reward. The role calls for forward-looking ideas grounded in market conditions, regulation and technical depth.

No prior payments expertise is required, as the company will help you get up to speed.

Your manager is Lauren. Your recruiter is Prashant S.

Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver the multi-quarter roadmap for core credit platform services, balancing client needs, business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Write detailed product requirements and technical documents for engineers building backend systems, APIs and data models for credit accounts and transaction processing.
  • Coordinate engineering, go-to-market, operations, legal, compliance and risk teams to take new credit products and features from concept to market.
  • Work with engineering leaders as a peer on architecture for account management, transaction processing and data integrity, and own the product impact of those decisions.
  • Talk with external customers and internal teams to uncover needs, test solutions and confirm that shipped features deliver measurable value.
  • Use analytics and product metrics to find platform gaps, measure feature impact and sharpen roadmap priorities.
  • Act as the company's credit voice with enterprise clients, issuing banks and card networks, and bring market and regulatory signals into planning early.
  • Align several teams without managing them, and take ownership of the outcome.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management in fintech or payments, including leading work with networks and banks.
  • A track record of shipping technically complex credit products or platforms at scale in regulated, multi-stakeholder settings.
  • A thinker on credit markets who can spot opportunities, turn them into strategy and bring stakeholders along.
  • Executive presence and experience influencing senior leaders, external clients and partners in legal, compliance and risk.
  • Technical depth and curiosity, with comfort around APIs, data models, system architecture, AI/ML and emerging technology as a credible product voice.
  • The ability to act decisively in unclear situations and move teams past internal and external blockers with clarity and accountability.
  • Prior experience building or scaling credit-as-a-service or embedded credit products for enterprise clients or card program managers.

Conditions

The role can be performed remotely under the company's Flexible First approach.

Pay is set by work location within three US tiers. National is the baseline for most of the US. Premium is slightly higher and covers a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA. Premium Plus covers the most expensive areas, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.

New-hire base salary ranges, based on skills, prior experience and location: National $198,100 - $247,600; Premium $214,400 - $268,000; Premium Plus $233,000 - $291,300.

Check which tier applies to you on the company's careers page or with a recruiter.

The hiring process runs as a recruiter phone call, a hiring manager video call, a virtual onsite of 4 to 5 calls of 45 minutes each, and then an offer.
