Description

The company is a global technology business that builds ways to move and manage money across borders. Its platform business packages payments products built over the last 15 years and makes them available to hundreds of millions of consumers and businesses, inside banks, fintechs and online platforms.

This senior role, graded AL2, leads analytics for the Online Platforms vertical and sits on the vertical leadership team. It is highly autonomous and set in a fast-growing environment that feels like a start-up inside a scale-up.

The work centres on questions such as where the biggest product, growth and commercial opportunities are, who to build and sell to, which products to build or improve, how to cut time to revenue and help partners scale, where friction sits in onboarding and transactions, how to position and prioritise products, and how to structure and resource teams.

You will stay hands-on, own the vertical's performance and help analysts and partners work through the most complex and ambiguous problems.

You will manage a team from your first day while growing a product analytics function for the vertical.

The hiring process has five steps: a 30 minute recruiter screening call, a take-home case study with 7 days to submit, a 1.5 hour technical interview, a 1 hour stakeholder interview and a 1 hour final interview.

Responsibilities

  • Own growth and performance for the vertical end to end. Define and actively manage KPIs and metrics for the vertical and its sub-teams so product performance is clear. Find root causes through deep dives and turn findings into recommendations with partners.
  • Lead product discovery and size markets and opportunities for product initiatives, weighing their short- and long-term impact on KPIs. Use this to guide strategy, set priorities and shape product and commercial roadmaps.
  • Set the vision, priorities, operating model and working practices for the product analytics function as the vertical grows. Build the foundations it needs: reliable data models, clear metric definitions and self-serve reporting.
  • Lead, coach and develop product analysts from day one, setting high standards for analytical quality, commercial thinking and impact.
  • Work with product, engineering, operations and commercial leaders to turn complex analysis into clear narratives and recommendations. Influence senior stakeholders and move cross-functional teams to act.

Requirements

  • An experienced product analytics leader who has built, managed and scaled high-performing analytics teams.
  • Experience at high-growth B2B tech companies, working closely with product teams, and preferably with enterprise sales teams.
  • Experience in fintech, preferably payments, or a willingness to become an expert on the company's products, partners and competitors.
  • Commercially minded, able to turn analysis into impact and comfortable with opportunity sizing, forecasting, prioritisation and scenario modelling.
  • Proficient in SQL and in data pipeline tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, Python and Lightdash. Comfortable owning work from data transformation through to actionable insights.
  • Expert at building dashboards and visualisations that tell a clear story and support diagnosis.
  • Solution-oriented, able to own projects from start to finish, motivate stakeholders across the company, negotiate priorities and timelines, and get things done.
  • An excellent communicator who forms clear views and argues them well to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working at strategic and hands-on levels, setting direction for the function and going into detail when needed.

Conditions

Base salary of £105k to £150k, depending on experience.

Work from almost anywhere in the world for up to 90 days a year.

Flexible working, based on trust and taking personal responsibility.

The company welcomes people from every background and aims for diverse, equitable and inclusive teams.
