Senior Presales Systems Engineer (Belgium) - Hybrid Cloud Storage

The company's cloud data platform manages exabytes of demanding data, unifying files, objects and every workload across edge, core and cloud.

This is a senior presales systems engineer role for Belgium, covering hybrid-cloud, edge and low-latency gateway work with local and international brands.

You will help design high-density AI and HPC scale-outs and work with the local sales team and partner network to become a trusted technical adviser as customers move toward purchase.

The role suits a technologist who can explain scale-out storage to C-level audiences in plain language and who enjoys hands-on Proof of Concepts.

The company has more than 1,100 customers and manages exabytes of data, serving workloads from AI and HPC simulations to genomics, medical imaging, media rendering and video surveillance.

The platform unifies file and object storage across data centers, edge and public clouds, without limits from protocol or transport.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales to design and deliver unstructured data solutions suited to local enterprise needs.
• Qualify and advance opportunities across Belgium, working alone and alongside OEM storage specialists such as Cisco and Arrow.
• Lead technical deep-dives, whiteboarding sessions and solution designs covering cross-border replication, hybrid-cloud bursting and multi-protocol file access.
• Run Proof of Concept deployments on-premises and in the public cloud to show real-world performance, reliability and flexibility.
• Write technical proposals and RFP responses covering architecture, data protection and performance at scale.
• Run whitespace reviews, account mapping and business planning to improve regional forecast accuracy, and respectfully challenge customer technical direction.
• Follow regional trends, from localized AI training clusters to EU sovereign cloud rules, and contribute to case studies and technical content.

Requirements

• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• At least 5 years in presales systems engineering, including at least 3 years on unstructured data, file and object storage.
• Strong command of Windows, Linux and Unix/BSD, and of NFS, SMB and S3.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Working knowledge of the file and object storage market and its vendors, such as NetApp, Dell PowerScale/Isilon, Vast Data, EverPure, Ceph, Lustre, Scality and Weka.
• A consultative, value-based sales approach and a record of taking enterprise deals from first pitch to technical champion alignment.
• Willing to travel up to 30% across the region for customer meetings, PoC setups and partner events.
• Bonus: familiarity with the regional landscape, including green and hyperscale data centers, high-density cooling (liquid, submerged, free-air) and the connectivity ecosystem (FLAP-D hubs, AMS-IX and other internet exchanges).
• Bonus: experience delivering scale-out storage into Media & Entertainment (VFX), Life Sciences (genomics), Energy or HPC/AI.
• Bonus: awareness of EU data privacy and sovereign cloud requirements.
• Cloud architect certifications are a plus.

Conditions

Must be located in Belgium and have the right to work there.

Annual pay range of €150,000 to €200,000 OTE, plus benefits and pre-IPO stock options. Individual pay depends on role level, relevant experience and skills.
