Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer - Eastern Pennsylvania

You will mainly work from home, as this role is designated remote/teleworker.

Its networking group builds AI-native networking that modernizes infrastructure and connects people, devices and applications securely.

This is a customer-facing systems engineer role supporting public-sector accounts in Northern New Jersey: state and local government and K-12 schools.

You will work alongside Territory Managers (TMs) to design solutions, win deals and become a trusted technical advisor to customers.

The team focuses on technical excellence and customer impact.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and close opportunities together with TMs.
• Gather customer requirements and tailor each solution design to the account.
• Design end-to-end networking solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Recommend the right delivery approach for each customer, not only the architecture.
• Combine technical depth and business insight to show how the company delivers measurable outcomes.
• Run presentations, demos, workshops and proofs of concept (PoCs).
• Write technical proposals and architecture recommendations.
• Show how the company's products compare with competitors on technical and business value.
• Build relationships with customers, partners and internal teams.
• Support channel and demand generation activity in the territory.
• Keep up with networking technology and competitive trends.
• Support complex deals from discovery through deployment.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in infrastructure, systems engineering, or pre-sales for enterprise networking.
• Strong skills in customer-facing communication, presenting and consultative selling.
• The ability to turn technical requirements into practical business solutions.
• Comfort working with customers, partners, sales staff and executives.
• Working knowledge of campus and branch networking, routing and switching, and enterprise wireless.
• Knowledge of network security and NAC.
• Knowledge of cloud-managed networking.
• Experience with solution architecture, demos and PoCs.
• HPE Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, or equivalent certifications.
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking trends and competitors.
• Preferred: experience with SLED customers.
• Preferred: experience mentoring junior systems engineers.

Conditions

Primarily remote, working from home.

You must live in the Northern New Jersey territory and travel onsite to customers; the role may be posted as remote.

The expected annual salary range in the United States is USD 146,000 to 343,000 in Pennsylvania, covering base and target sales pay at 100% of plan.

The base and target mix is 75% base salary and 25% target sales pay.
