Senior Platform Engineer - Container Services

The company offers payments, data and financial products in one solution, and is building its platform to serve businesses worldwide.

The Container Services team in San Francisco owns and runs the core container orchestration infrastructure that keeps the global payment platform up.

The role helps scale that platform as the company grows across the world.

Responsibilities

• Build, run and maintain Kubernetes and the infrastructure around it across the company's global private cloud.
• Write tooling and automation for provisioning, configuration management and daily operations, so engineering teams can serve themselves and need less manual work.
• Own the uptime and performance of critical platform systems, take part in on-call rotations, and lead incident response and postmortems that make operations better over time.
• Work with platform engineers in Chicago on a team that runs 24/7 infrastructure across several regions and datacenters.
• Help shape architecture, assess new technologies, and drive modernization such as migrations, multi-region resilience and standardizing infrastructure.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure or software engineering.
• You are skilled at Linux system administration, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) and security basics, and you can troubleshoot hard problems across the full stack.
• You have hands-on experience running Kubernetes at scale, including cluster operations, networking and troubleshooting, and you know HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault) and GitOps with ArgoCD.
• You have worked with on-prem, bare-metal infrastructure outside public cloud, including bare-metal provisioning, hardware lifecycle, storage and datacenter operations.
• You write intermediate to advanced Bash and intermediate to advanced Python or Go, and you can build production-quality tooling and automation.
• Nice to have: experience in FinTech or other regulated industries where reliability and security are critical.
• Nice to have: experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet), load balancers (HAProxy, Nginx, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code at scale.

Conditions

The annual base salary range is $198,000.00 - $293,000.00.

Pay depends on qualifications, experience and location.

The role is based in the San Francisco office.

The company is office-first and expects you to be in the office at least 3 days a week on average.

The office setup is meant to support in-person collaboration and learning from colleagues while still allowing some flexibility.
