Senior DevOps Engineer

Description

The company is a fast-moving startup building a platform, and this role sits at the center of its cloud and delivery setup. You will design, build, and run the infrastructure, deployment systems, and internal tooling behind the product.

You will own key parts of the cloud and delivery environment and keep systems secure, reliable, scalable, and efficient. You will lead infrastructure and automation projects from start to finish, aiming for better performance, faster releases, and more productive developers.

You will work as a go-to partner for engineering and product teams, helping them ship quickly and safely. Your work will have a direct effect on uptime, performance, and the overall health of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and upkeep CI/CD pipelines for web, backend, and mobile apps so releases are dependable and repeatable
• Run and tune Kubernetes clusters for production, focusing on availability, speed, and capacity to grow
• Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code across the AWS environment
• Design a cloud architecture on AWS that is secure, scalable, and affordable
• Create automation scripts and internal tools that cut manual effort and raise operational efficiency
• Set up and improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response using DataDog, CloudWatch, and Cloudflare
• Investigate production incidents, find root causes, and make fixes that improve long-term reliability
• Spot infrastructure risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt, and fix them before they cause problems
• Work closely with development teams to improve deployment workflows, observability, and readiness for operations
• Encourage DevOps practices, reliability standards, and ownership of operations across engineering
• Write up infrastructure architecture, operating procedures, and system dependencies so the team can keep running without gaps

Requirements

• At least 6 years in DevOps, site reliability, platform engineering, or infrastructure-heavy software engineering
• Solid experience designing and running AWS cloud infrastructure in production
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes clusters at scale
• Proven record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform
• Experience setting up monitoring, logging, and observability in production systems
• Proficient in scripting or programming with Python, Bash, or similar
• Strong grasp of cloud networking, security practices, and reliability principles
• Able to take infrastructure work from design through implementation and ongoing operation without close supervision
• Good problem solver who can explain technical risks, trade-offs, and operational impact clearly
• Able to work effectively in a fast-moving startup while keeping systems stable and operational standards high
• Preferred: experience supporting high-growth or high-availability production environments
• Preferred: experience with cost optimization and performance tuning on AWS
• Preferred: experience leading incident management, on-call practices, or reliability work

Conditions

Base salary range: $180,000 - $230,000 USD, as a guideline. Actual pay depends on skills, experience, and the impact you bring. Total compensation includes base salary, bonus, and equity.
