Senior ML Engineer, Retail Media (m/f/d)

The company is Europe's No. 1 e-pharmacy.

You will help build the new Retail Media product from scratch, designing and running ML systems that show shoppers relevant ads and give brands and retailers measurable results.

The work covers the whole ML lifecycle, from framing the problem and understanding the data to building, deploying, monitoring and improving models.

The role suits someone strong in machine learning who also has solid software practices and likes turning loosely defined product ideas into dependable, scalable systems.

You will be part of a product team that works with the Data & AI department.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Data & AI colleagues and partner closely with product managers, engineers and commercial stakeholders.
• Build, run and maintain ML systems for retail media tasks: sponsored product ranking, audience segments, campaign tuning, attribution and performance measurement.
• Turn business and product needs into ML designs that weigh accuracy against speed, uptime, growth capacity and ease of upkeep.
• Build dependable pipelines for features, training, evaluation, release, monitoring and ongoing model updates.
• Ship models on the cloud-based stack and keep them reliable, observable and easy to maintain over time.
• Explain decisions, assumptions, limits and open uncertainty to product, engineering and business audiences.
• Help set ML engineering standards and share best practices across the team.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience as an ML engineer, ML-focused software engineer or data scientist with strong engineering skills.
• A track record of building and running live ML systems, pipelines or model-based products.
• Experience with retail media, or with recommender systems or ranking.
• Comfortable with complex data and aware of common ML pitfalls such as data leakage, feedback loops, distribution shifts and misleading offline metrics.
• Willing to work close to the business and able to explain complex technical topics to non-technical people.
• Self-starting, takes ownership, and works through ambiguity in an early-stage product environment.
• Collaborative, open to giving and receiving feedback, and keen to help others grow.

Conditions

Work from home is possible where the role does not require office presence, with the place of work arranged individually, including up to 20 days a year from anywhere in the EU.
