Description

The team builds GPU-accelerated libraries and SDKs for sparse linear algebra, including cuSPARSE and cuDSS.

These libraries support work in AI, data analytics, computer-aided engineering, electronic design automation, quantum chemistry, autonomous vehicles and large language models.

You will design and optimize kernels for sparse BLAS operations, direct and iterative sparse solvers, preconditioners and algebraic multigrid, alongside other developers.

The company is known as an AI computing company and is hiring people it considers among the strongest in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and optimize scalable, high-performance numerical sparse linear algebra software for current and future GPU architectures.
  • Work with library engineers, QA engineers and interns on projects that range from sparse BLAS to advanced direct and iterative solvers.
  • Work with product management and internal and external partners to define feature and performance requirements and help shape library roadmaps.
  • Find and act on chances to improve library quality, performance and maintainability, including re-architecting code and introducing new development practices.

Requirements

  • A PhD or MSc in computational science and engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing, debugging and optimizing high-performance sparse linear algebra software in C++ with parallel programming. CUDA, MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC, pthreads or similar is ideal.
  • Solid grounding in floating point arithmetic and in implementing sparse primitives such as matrix-vector and matrix-matrix products.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and testing sparse linear algebra libraries.
  • Strong collaboration, communication and documentation habits.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of CPU and/or GPU architecture and low-level GPU performance tuning.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with multi-frontal factorizations, iterative solvers, preconditioners and algebraic multigrid.
  • Nice to have: experience adopting and improving CI/CD systems and project tools such as JIRA.
  • Nice to have: understanding of large-scale computing such as PDE solvers, eigenvalue solvers and time-domain simulation (e.g., CFD, FEA).
  • Nice to have: experience working in a globally distributed, agile organization.

Conditions

Base salary depends on location, experience and other objective job-related factors. Expected base salary is 152,000 USD to 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD to 287,500 USD for Level 4.

Applications are accepted at least until November 3, 2026.
