Description

The company runs a large sports fan platform, with CRM covering over 100 million fans and more than 900 e-commerce sites for major leagues, teams and colleges.

This is a senior role embedded in an agile, marketing-led CRM team. You will own triggered journeys, personalised content and the data integrations behind them, built on Adobe Journey Optimizer and Adobe Experience Platform and connected to an in-house commerce platform.

Success is judged by delivered results and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketers, analysts and technical leads to test assumptions and agree the solution design before building, so everyone shares ownership of the outcome.
  • Document journey logic, templates and data setup so teammates can extend and maintain your work.
  • Track work in Jira and GitHub, and apply solid CI/CD and agile practice that sets the standard for the team.
  • Build real-time and batch journeys triggered by fan behaviour, such as cart abandonment, browse retargeting, purchases, price changes, inventory signals, loyalty milestones and live game results.
  • Build responsive email, SMS and push templates and reusable components in HTML, CSS and Handlebars, personalised by team, league, player, purchase history and behaviour.
  • Design and run A/B and multivariate tests on content and journey logic to lift engagement and conversion.
  • Trace fan-facing delivery problems to their root cause by following a profile through a journey, reading event payloads and finding out why a fan did or did not qualify.
  • Extend XDM schemas, set up event and profile ingestion, and build audiences from upstream commerce and fan events where out-of-the-box features fall short.
  • Connect the marketing stack to surrounding systems through REST APIs to support data flows that standard connectors cannot handle.
  • Weigh trade-offs across journey design, data modelling and integration patterns before choosing a build approach.
  • Look for ways to use new tools, AI capabilities and platform features to make journeys more sophisticated, personalisation deeper and operations more efficient.
  • Take journey, template and fragment changes from requirements through to production, with no gaps between design, build and release.
  • Manage code in GitHub with CI/CD practice, keeping every release well checked.
  • Turn marketers' business problems into complete technical solutions and own them end to end.
  • Track, prioritise and deliver work in Jira in a fast-moving agile setting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years designing and building personalised, real-time customer journeys on an enterprise marketing platform such as Adobe Journey Optimizer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze or Iterable. Depth of journey design and behaviour-driven architecture counts for more than the specific platform.
  • Proven record building behaviour-driven programmes, such as abandoned cart, browse retargeting and replenishment, rather than only scheduled batch sends to static lists.
  • Experience with custom data models and integrations, including event ingestion, profile data management and API connections beyond standard connectors.
  • Strong HTML and CSS for responsive email, plus working knowledge of at least one templating language such as Handlebars, AMPscript, Liquid or Jinja.
  • Proven ability to solve complex journey and data problems on your own by tracing profiles, reading event payloads and finding root causes.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, with the ability to gather requirements from marketers and explain technical trade-offs to non-technical people.
  • Experience managing code in GitHub with CI/CD practice and tracking work in an agile tool such as Jira.
