Description

The company has spent over 25 years advancing computer graphics, PC gaming and accelerated computing, and now applies AI to the next generation of computing, where its GPUs power computers, robots and self-driving cars.

The company is building accelerated computing and AI infrastructure, including GPUs, networking, software and large-scale datacenter platforms. This role supports internal engineers as they move next-generation AI and HPC clusters from initial setup to broad use.

The role sits within Applied Systems Engineering and centers on cluster engineering support. You will grow the engineering community, build hands-on training and handle requests from engineering users and partner teams. You will define how requests are taken in, ranked, owned and communicated, covering onboarding, workload help and access to experts for deep debugging. Your understanding of large-scale infrastructure will help you spot needs, line up resources and keep requests moving.

You will work with architecture, bringup, software, firmware, networking, storage, datacenter operations, performance and program teams. The ideal person has engineering leadership and hands-on operations experience with Linux-based HPC and AI environments, enjoys developing people, balances competing requests and turns technical knowledge into training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team that handles cluster engineering support, community programs, training and engineering requests.
  • Build a connected internal engineering community through onboarding, office hours, technical workshops and knowledge sharing that helps users work well on changing AI and HPC platforms.
  • Write practical training and documentation on cluster access, workload submission, GPU scheduling, shared storage, operating procedures and filing useful support requests.
  • Own intake and prioritization: clarify each need, record impact and priority, identify dependencies, and keep a transparent queue that reflects delivery progress and available capacity.
  • Coordinate requests that need specialist work, including deep debugging. Match requesters with the right technical owners, agree next steps, track progress and escalate stalled items.
  • Work with cluster operations and engineering teams on access, allocations, maintenance notices and resource needs so users can plan and finish their work.
  • Turn recurring questions, request patterns and specialist findings into reusable guidance, training and proposals for self-service tools or workflow changes.
  • Use request volume, response time, aging, completion trends, training attendance and user feedback to raise support quality and report priorities and capacity needs.

Requirements

  • A BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Applied Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years in high-performance computing, AI infrastructure, datacenter systems, production engineering or large-scale Linux environments.
  • 5+ years of technical leadership or engineering management, including mentoring engineers, setting priorities and delivering across organizations.
  • Working knowledge of Linux clusters, GPU workload scheduling, cluster management, networking, servers and large shared storage, with the judgment to understand technical requests and bring in the right specialists.
  • Experience handling engineering requests, support queues or operational workflows, including prioritization, ownership, clearing blockers and communicating through completion.
  • Ability to turn complex infrastructure topics into clear documentation, training and guidance for engineers at different experience levels.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with sound judgment when weighing user needs, engineering priorities and resource limits in a changing hardware and software setting.

Conditions

Your base salary depends on your location, experience and the pay of employees in similar roles. The base salary range is 272,000 USD to 431,250 USD for Level 4 and 320,000 USD to 488,750 USD for Level 5.

Applications are accepted until at least October 31, 2026.

Benefits

  • Experience designing or operating large HPC or AI clusters and supporting the engineers who rely on them, especially through early hardware, firmware or software lifecycle phases.
  • Experience with cluster management platforms, workload schedulers, GPU resource allocation and large or petabyte-scale filesystems.
  • A record of building engineering communities, onboarding programs, technical workshops or peer learning that improves user independence and performance.
  • Experience improving request workflows across compute, networking, storage and software teams, with clear handoffs, shared priorities and measurable service gains.
  • A track record of building inclusive teams that encourage ownership, knowledge transfer, careful decision-making and career growth.
