Founding Engineer

Description

The company is an early-stage AI software team building tools for leaders in the public and private sectors.

You will join the founding group and work closely with the engineering lead, with broad ownership across the product and its AI agent features.

Responsibilities

• Take features from start to finish across the database, backend services and frontend.
• Build and refine production AI agents with LangChain, LangGraph and the Deep Agents framework.
• Rebuild and maintain core areas of the product, such as onboarding and other features that do not involve agents.
• Speak with customers by message and call to resolve problems and learn how they use the product.
• Set up product and engineering practices as one of the first team members.

Requirements

• You have 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
• You have built a production AI agent or LLM-based system and can explain its purpose, how it works and how it was tested.
• You are proficient in Python, React and AWS.
• You have built full-stack features across the database, backend and frontend, including outside AI agents.
• You are comfortable taking wide technical ownership and working directly with customers.
• Startup experience or work in a regulated industry such as fintech, government technology or healthcare is helpful.
• You must hold U.S. citizenship. Sponsorship for work visas is not offered.

Conditions

Base salary ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 per year.

The role is on-site in San Francisco, California, with some flexibility for occasional remote work.
