Sign Up to ReadAt FIS, our technology and our people are moving forward. We advance the way the world pays, banks and invests. We believe in building inclusive, diverse teams. Together, we innovate to help our colleagues, clients and communities succeed. If you're ready to grow your career and make an impact in fintech, we have one question: Are you FIS?
About the Role
You will be a senior engineer on Frontend Platform's web team, building the foundation product teams across FIS use to create web experiences, and the services behind it. You won't own a single area. You'll move between several projects as the platform needs you, across the web platform and the services behind it. After being onboarded, you'll take complex problems from analysis to architecture to production with little direction, and use AI coding tools every day to move faster. Success means product teams ship faster on the platform and the engineers around you get better.
What You Will Be Doing
Build and evolve the web foundation teams build on: application shells, micro-frontends, routing, deployment and release.
Design, build and run the services the web platform depends on, such as APIs, content services and backend-for-frontend layers.
Take ambiguous, complex problems from analysis to architecture to production without hand-holding.
Move between several owned projects as priorities shift, and keep each one moving.
Bring proposals, challenge ideas constructively, and help the team reach decisions.
Build the rules, skills and tooling that help AI coding agents produce consistent, secure code.
Review code and mentor engineers, including designers who are new to shipping code.
Partner with product teams to help them adopt the platform.
What You Will Need
Extensive experience building production web applications with TypeScript and React, and comfort working across the stack, including backend services such as Node.js.
Experience designing APIs and services: data modeling, authentication, performance and observability.
A track record of architecting solutions to complex problems and picking up new technologies quickly.
Comfort switching context across multiple projects and owning outcomes end to end.
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a point of view on how they change engineering work.
Humble, with a voice: you share your ideas and push back when it matters.
Degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Added Bonus If You Have
Experience in banking, payments or financial services.
Experience with AWS, containers and CI/CD.
Experience with headless CMS or content platforms.
Experience with micro-frontends or module federation.
Experience with design systems or component libraries.
Familiarity with secure software development practices for regulated financial environments.
