Senior Golang Software Engineer, Infrastructure - remote in the US

Description

The company builds GPU-as-a-Service infrastructure, and this role designs the infrastructure services behind it.

You will build the control plane that converts high-level API calls into real infrastructure work: enrolling bare-metal servers, provisioning them, and assembling multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters on high-performance hardware.

You will own the infrastructure-level services end to end, from the Server and MachineType APIs down to provisioning workflows and the reconciliation loops that keep the platform's hardware records matched to physical reality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain versioned REST and gRPC APIs for bare-metal server lifecycle, MachineType definitions, and cluster create, read, update, and delete operations.
• Build asynchronous workflows for server enrollment, inspection, OS provisioning, and cluster bring-up, and expose durable status to callers.
• Build and maintain the consoles and interfaces that show hardware inventory, provisioning progress, and cluster health.
• Design error handling, idempotency guarantees, and reconciliation loops so long-running provisioning operations stay reliable.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs or gRPC services, including API versioning and gateway patterns.
• Proficiency in Go, which is preferred for backend work in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes primitives and controller and reconciler patterns. You will work with k0rdent, Metal3, and Cluster API to turn high-level API calls into infrastructure actions.
• Hands-on experience with bare-metal provisioning, including BMC and Redfish, PXE and iPXE, image management, and hardware inspection.
• Experience building workflow-driven or event-driven systems, such as Temporal, where operations run for a long time and state must stay consistent across retries and failures.
• Preferred qualifications:
• Experience building informers or reconciliation bridges that keep an external datastore consistent with Kubernetes resource state.
• Experience building platforms that require strict data and network isolation between tenants.
• Familiarity with Terraform or OpenTofu and GitOps-driven configuration using ArgoCD or Flux.
• Familiarity with GPU server hardware, DPUs and NICs, and high-performance datacenter fabrics.
