Description

The company is a tech-enabled medical group led by pediatricians, focused on care for children with special health care needs.

It provides 24/7 virtual-first care and in-home medical, behavioral and social care, working with families, providers and health plans.

The company adds an extra layer of support to existing care teams rather than replacing them.

Responsibilities

  • Build up and coach a team of software engineers, encouraging new ideas, teamwork and steady improvement.
  • Shape each engineer's growth through timely, well-calibrated feedback, growth plans and support for promotion.
  • Work with Product and cross-functional groups (Data Engineering, Enterprise Analytics, Foundations) on data models, system boundaries and integration choices, and keep squads informed of decisions and context.
  • Carry out the technical roadmap, guided by data, iterative delivery, simplicity and delivered value.
  • Turn business goals into technical architecture and requirements with business stakeholders, and estimate scope and timelines.
  • Help the team design solutions that meet business needs and are scalable, stable, efficient, maintainable and extensible.
  • Move work forward when requirements, ownership or system boundaries are still unsettled, adding enough structure to unblock the team without waiting for complete information.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years managing engineers as a main, sustained role.
  • A track record of handling change and shifting priorities, and making progress when requirements are unclear.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for a cloud-based tech stack.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with a proven record of working asynchronously and remotely.
  • A steady drive to remove obstacles for your team, working across disciplines to do so.
  • Interest in developing engineers across the full range of professional skills.
  • Ability to balance speed to proof of concept with robust, ideal systems.
  • Experience leading organization-wide efforts to improve engineering outcomes.
  • Preferred: AWS experience.
  • Preferred: experience at an earlier-stage or scale-up company.
  • Preferred: healthcare experience.

Conditions

The company values diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $180,000 to $220,000, plus an annual bonus incentive, a competitive benefits package, and eligibility for an employee equity purchase program where applicable. Pay depends on job-related knowledge, skills and experience, so your offer may vary.
  • Competitive medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • Healthcare and dependent care FSA, plus a company-funded HSA.
  • 401(k) with a 4% match, 100% vested from day one.
  • Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability.

  • 20 days PTO, 10 company holidays and 2 floating holidays.
  • Paid new parent leave.
  • Further benefits are detailed in the offer.
