The company is an incubator that builds and invests in fast-growing, technology-led firms working in healthcare, cyber, and national security.
Founded in 2023, the company offers an end-to-end platform that lets enterprises deploy, manage, and tune AI, with a focus on the last mile of adoption and on cutting costs. Its agents top the Hugging Face GAIA Leaderboard for general AI assistants, ahead of Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI. It builds mission-critical agent applications for industries such as healthcare, oil and gas, and national security.
The team is hiring a leader to build and run a production and infrastructure engineering group. You will manage DevOps, SRE, developer experience, and MLOps engineers, plus a support team, and you will answer for their performance, growth, and output.
You need a solid base in infrastructure and software. Stay close enough to the code to question assumptions and steer technical choices, mainly through design reviews, code reviews, investigations, and pairing. Grow technical leads and hand implementation work to them.
The role suits someone who can give shape to unclear work, adjust plans when priorities shift, and align different technical disciplines around concrete goals.
Responsibilities
Hire, onboard, and develop engineers: run one-on-ones, manage performance, coach junior engineers, grow technical leads, and give senior specialists direct, honest feedback.
Set shared priorities across infrastructure, reliability, developer experience, testing, and application delivery. Assign execution to the right leads, settle disagreements, and hold everyone to agreed decisions.
Run sprint planning, backlog grooming, capacity planning, and delivery reviews with technical leads and TPMs. Turn vague goals into concrete tasks, manage dependencies and scope, and balance roadmap work against incidents and customer support. Replan fast and explain tradeoffs when conditions change.
Stay technically involved: join design and code reviews, ask pointed questions, and step into investigations or pairing when the team is stuck. Apply your infrastructure and software experience to link application behavior with deployment and operations.
Make reliability, change control, QA, and end-to-end validation a standard part of delivery. Name owners, agree readiness criteria with feature teams, and make sure testing, runbooks, and rollback plans support each release decision.
Drive improvements to cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, observability, on-call readiness, and incident response. Focus on work that cuts repeat incidents and developer friction, and measure delivery, reliability, recovery, and support results to guide investment.
Lead the dedicated support team, made up of full-stack engineers, DevOps engineers, and a dedicated TPM. Align priorities, staffing, delivery commitments, and support expectations with stakeholders, resolve dependencies across application and infrastructure teams, and keep escalation paths clear.
Work with Product, Platform, Applied AI, and Security/GRC on delivery priorities, operational readiness, and customer requirements. Raise risks early, secure decisions when needed, and make sure engineering commitments are met.
Requirements
10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineers directly, or equivalent proven experience.
A track record of building teams, coaching platform and infrastructure engineers, managing performance, and delivering through technical leads.
Director-level candidates should have led across several engineering functions.
Experience leading teams with different specialties and seniority levels. Strong at planning, prioritizing, delegating, and communicating with stakeholders, and able to resolve technical disputes and keep teams aligned to shared outcomes.
Solid technical base in at least one major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, with hands-on work in Kubernetes, containers, networking, identity, and production operations.
Practical experience with Terraform, Git-based workflows, GitOps, and CI/CD. Able to guide the team on repeatable environments, configuration control, and reliable deployments.
Strong record of shipping production software, with real depth in backend services, APIs, data stores, and full-stack integration. Able to review code and designs, diagnose application failures, and pair with engineers to unblock delivery.
Experience running production delivery and support, covering reliability, incident response, change control for releases, and work with engineers on automated tests and end-to-end readiness.
Able to bring structure to unclear problems, pick up unfamiliar technical areas quickly, and decide well with incomplete information. Comfortable moving between people issues, delivery problems, and technical discussions while keeping the team focused.
Experience handling technical commitments and escalations with internal or external customers, and turning their needs into workable priorities and delivery plans.
Preferred: familiarity with MLOps, model serving, or running AI/ML and agent workloads, and willingness to learn from specialists in those areas.
Preferred: experience supporting customer-managed environments, multiple cloud providers, or enterprise deployments with complex integration needs.
Preferred: experience in national security, federal, regulated, or other security-sensitive settings, including working with Security/GRC on engineering requirements.
Preferred: experience growing an engineering organization, or building a new team or operating function at a fast-changing company.
