Description

You will join the team building an AI-native software development product that helps Mission Heroes create, package, and deliver secure applications into mission environments.

The product pairs AI-driven workflows with UDS tooling to automate application development, packaging, validation, and delivery preparation. Those applications often must run in secure, regulated, and disconnected settings, which takes specialized engineering.

Your work will cover AI agent orchestration, isolated development environments, automated validation, and combining AI with deterministic systems that produce reliable, deployable software.

You will help set the product's technical direction, own complex capabilities from design through delivery, and work with Engineering, Product, UX, and Mission Heroes to turn hard customer problems into simple, dependable solutions. You will also influence architecture and help build engineering practices as the product grows.

The company streamlines software delivery for federal and commercial customers, with security as a core requirement. Its team includes engineers and veterans with decades of experience delivering technology programs in the federal market.

Areas of work include Kubernetes, cloud environments on AWS, GCP, and Azure, infrastructure as code such as Terraform and Pulumi, continuous delivery and automation, GitOps, containers, CNCF and open source packages, Helm and Kustomize, value stream mapping, security delivery, and cloud native applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-driven workflows that help users create, package, validate, and maintain mission applications.
  • Develop agent orchestration that combines AI reasoning with deterministic tooling, validation, and human oversight.
  • Create secure, isolated environments for running AI agents and building software.
  • Connect UDS packaging, Kubernetes, and delivery tooling into automated development workflows.
  • Build systems that manage persistent application state, development workflows, and asynchronous execution.
  • Develop automated tests and validation to confirm that generated software and UDS packages are secure and deployable.
  • Work with Product, UX, and Mission Heroes to turn complex delivery problems into clear product experiences.
  • Own the design, build, testing, and delivery of complex features and systems.
  • Make practical technical decisions and shape architecture across product components.
  • Resolve ambiguity by working closely with Product, UX, and Mission Heroes.
  • Debug complex issues across Kubernetes, virtualization, storage, networking, and operating systems.
  • Improve the reliability, security, performance, observability, and maintainability of the software.
  • Review code, mentor teammates, and help set strong engineering practices.
  • Document technical decisions and communicate clearly across teams.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as the organization's needs change, so adaptability matters.

Requirements

  • Preferred: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Preferred: Strong skill in a modern programming language, with Go and TypeScript preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience designing, building, and running production software products.
  • Preferred: Experience adding LLMs, AI agents, or AI-powered features to software applications.
  • Preferred: Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and application architecture.
  • Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud native application development.
  • Preferred: Experience building reliable, testable systems with automated validation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: Ability to handle ambiguity, weigh technical tradeoffs, and deliver complex solutions on your own.
  • Preferred: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building AI agent orchestration systems, coding agents, or AI-powered developer tools.
  • Familiarity with LLM evaluation, tool calling, MCP, and agent execution frameworks.
  • Experience with secure sandboxing, isolated execution environments, or Kata Containers.
  • Experience building developer platforms, CLIs, or software development automation.
  • Familiarity with Zarf, Helm, Kubernetes operators, or software packaging workflows.
  • Experience with software supply chain security, artifact validation, and deployment automation.
  • Experience developing software for air-gapped, regulated, or restricted environments.
  • Contributions to open source projects or developer tooling.
