Senior Engineer

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Engineer in Cary, NC to monitor the performance of application infrastructure and recommend technical improvements.

The role supports critical financial applications in complex production environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor how application infrastructure performs and propose technical improvements.
• Analyze engineering, business and other data processing problems to build and improve computer systems.
• Review user requirements, procedures and problems to automate and upgrade existing systems.
• Assess computer system capabilities, workflows and scheduling limits.
• Follow ITIL processes to resolve incidents and problems, including root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate change and release management, and take part in disaster recovery and business continuity tests.
• Run job scheduling with Control-M and Autosys.
• Close gaps identified in internal and external audits.
• Keep an end-to-end view of applications, infrastructure landscapes and dataflows.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and transformation, using AI/ML, continuous improvement and risk mitigation, so that critical services reach business stakeholders and clients without interruption.
• Work with Oracle Exadata, PL SQL, Unix, ServiceNow, Shell Script, Toad, Axiom Controller, Linux, Putty, Control-M, Geneos, SAS, MicroStrategy Reporting Tool, HP Quality Center/Service Center, SharePoint and Confluence.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting critical financial applications in complex production environments.
• Five (5) years of experience analyzing engineering, business and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems.
• Five (5) years of experience analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate and improve existing systems.
• Five (5) years of experience reviewing computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.
• Five (5) years of experience following ITIL processes, resolving incidents and problems, and performing root-cause analysis.
• Five (5) years of experience coordinating change and release management and working on disaster recovery and business continuity tests.
• Five (5) years of experience with job scheduling in Control-M and Autosys.
• Five (5) years of experience addressing gaps from internal and external audit findings.
• Five (5) years of experience maintaining an end-to-end view of applications, infrastructure landscapes and dataflows.
• Five (5) years of experience improving operational efficiency through automation, transformation, AI/ML, continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

Conditions

Location: Cary, NC.

Salary range: $163,959.00 to $225,000.00 per year.
