Engineer

Description

The company is looking for an engineer in Cary, NC to design and refine its cloud future state architecture and roadmaps, following established standards, guidelines and industry best practices as cloud adoption grows.

Salary range is $116,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year.

The role is eligible for the employee referral incentive program.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend microservices and data processing systems in Python.
• Design and implement solutions for distributed environments across multiple public cloud platforms.
• Create and support automated CI/CD pipelines with Git, keeping deployments secure, reliable, efficient and compliant with enterprise-grade standards.
• Handle schema design, query optimization and performance tuning across SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Work through the full software development life cycle in an Agile team, taking part in sprint planning, backlog refinement, iterative code reviews, sprint demos and retrospectives.
• Use monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus and Splunk, on cloud-native applications to find performance bottlenecks and keep systems healthy.
• Containerize applications in Unix environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Write shell scripts for networking needs and for Identity and Access Management (IAM) in public clouds.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Two years of experience in each of the areas listed in the responsibilities above.
