Senior DevSecOps Engineer (all genders)

Description

SCAYLE Payments handles payment processing for the online fashion store ABOUT YOU, which is part of a larger online fashion group.

The company is a payment institution regulated by BaFin under the German Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG).

The team connects payment providers and payment methods to the store checkout and manages how money reaches end customers and merchants, both incoming deposits and outgoing payouts.

Responsibilities

• Run and improve the AWS and Kubernetes environment, building it to be scalable, reliable and secure from the start, using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Build and tune GitLab CI pipelines and add security checks such as SAST and DAST into everyday developer workflows.
• Lead monitoring and observability work with tools such as Datadog, spot system risks early, and drive incident response through to resolution.
• Set and apply cloud security standards covering IAM, RBAC, vulnerability management and hardening of environments.
• Lead security work such as patch management, threat detection with tools such as GuardDuty and Falco, and preventing credential leaks in systems and code repositories.
• Work with engineering teams on architecture decisions, and lead security audits and compliance work.

Requirements

• You have 5+ years in DevOps or SRE roles and 3+ years in security-focused roles, with a record of securing cloud-native systems at scale.
• You have hands-on production experience with AWS and Kubernetes and a strong grasp of IAM and RBAC models.
• You are highly skilled with Terraform and GitLab CI, and you can code in at least one of Go, Python or JavaScript.
• You have solid experience with data storage such as PostgreSQL and a working understanding of data pipelines and ETL, for example AWS Glue.
• You have strong skills in cloud security, monitoring and observability, using tools such as Datadog, GuardDuty, Falco or similar.
• You solve problems proactively, communicate well, work comfortably in Agile teams, and speak English fluently.
