Senior Data Engineer role on the Data Analytics Platform, 80-100% (f/m/d).

The company works in wealth management. The team is building a data platform that will serve as the base for analytics and AI.

You would be a central contributor to building that platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data products and backend services that support real-time decisions, reporting, analytics and AI.
• Model data for both analytical and operational workloads so it stays fast, scalable and easy to maintain.
• Write high-quality, secure, testable code that follows sound engineering practice.
• Set up and run data governance, data quality checks and monitoring across the platform.
• Work with cloud, security and architecture colleagues so solutions meet enterprise standards and cloud practice.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data analytics, information systems or a related technical field, or equivalent training and work experience.
• 5+ years designing and delivering data engineering solutions and enterprise-scale data platforms.
• 5+ years building ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses and modern data platform architectures.
• 5+ years developing data applications and services in Python, Scala or a similar language.
• 5+ years of hands-on SQL work, including tuning performance, analysing data and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years with cloud data technologies, ideally Databricks on Azure.
• Strong hands-on background building and tuning large-scale data processing with Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL, Structured Streaming, Delta Lake).
• Comfortable handling structured, semi-structured and unstructured data across stores such as warehouses, relational databases, object storage and distributed platforms.
• Solid grasp of data modelling principles.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Strong skills in design, implementation and testing.
• Clear communicator who collaborates well, with experience in Agile delivery teams.
• Preferred: strong Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, covering deployment, configuration and management of Azure and Databricks resources.
• Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures and streaming tools such as Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Event Grid, Apache Flink or similar.
• Preferred: experience with DBT and modern transformation frameworks.
• Preferred: experience with Data Vault 2.0 modelling.
• Preferred: ability to provide technical leadership and guide architecture and engineering decisions.

Conditions

Contract of 12 months with possible extension, starting immediately.

Hours: 80-100%.

The contract runs through an external payroll partner.
