Job Details

The company University is hiring a Senior Creative Director to own how the company's people experience learning. this includes the creative vision behind it, the design and build of every enterprise learning product, and the quality with which it is delivered, from the frontline to the executive team.

We are reimagining learning and development in this new era of work. With AI and emerging technology top of mind, we are approaching this work at the company University with a commitment to design and deliver learning with the learner and human experience at the center of everything. The goal is to build a modern learning ecosystem to strengthen enterprise capabilities, accelerate development, and enable business performance.

Our search for a Senior Creative Director is centered on a leader who sets the creative direction, design standards, and quality bar for the company University and leads an integrated organization spanning global faculty and facilitation, creative assets and learning experience design, the Learning Innovation Studio, and business instructional design for technical and functional capability. Together these teams take learning from business need through discovery, solution architecture, design, production, facilitation, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Strategy and Creativity

This role carries an explicit innovation mandate for the enterprise. The Senior Creative Director is the company's point of view on how people learn in this new era of work: which modalities fit which outcomes, how content is structured so it is modular, personalized, and reusable, and where learning should show up so people actually use it, in the flow of work, in collaboration tools, on mobile, in the room, and through their managers. They lead the shift to AI-native design and production, exceptional storytelling, and set the standards that keep it accurate, accessible, on-brand, and responsible.

The team also carries the design and delivery work behind the company's enterprise and leadership development priorities, in close partnership with peers across Enterprise Talent & Learning, including the company's Leadership Academy, the company University Operations, and Talent, Skills and Career, and with business leaders, HR business partners, and business L&D teams across the company.

The right person is both a creative and a strategist. That combination lets them think boldly, build with intention, and execute with a strong bias for delivery and customer service, drawing results from their team and partners through inspiring leadership. They are as credible with a senior executive as with a frontline associate or a seasoned subject matter expert, and they hold an exceptional standard for how every one of those people experiences learning at the company.

Responsibilities

  • Creative Vision & Learning Product Strategy
  • Set the creative vision, design standards, and quality expectations for every the company University learning experience, so learning feels as well made and intuitive as the best experiences people use outside work.
  • Own the end-to-end learning product lifecycle, from consultation and intake through solution architecture, design, production, facilitation, delivery, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Define the portfolio's content architecture and design system: modular, reusable, personalized components; the right modality for each outcome; and one visibly on-brand standard across technical, functional, leadership, and enterprise capability learning.
  • Innovation & the Future of Learning
  • Lead the modernization of how the company learns, redesigning modalities, content structures, and consumption hot spots as work changes, and placing learning where people already are.
  • Drive AI-native design and production across the organization, applying generative AI, synthetic media, AI assistants, personalization, and automated workflows to improve speed, quality, scale, and cost.
  • Run the Learning Innovation Studio as the enterprise's lab for learning: pilot new formats and tools, measure, scale what works, and retire what does not.
  • Establish the standards and controls that keep AI-enabled products accurate, accessible, brand-aligned, and responsibly developed, and serve as the enterprise voice on learning innovation to HR and business leadership.
  • Strategic Business Partnership & Consultation
  • Partner with business leaders, HR business partners, business L&D teams, and enterprise portfolio leads to diagnose capability needs and translate business priorities into learning strategies and solutions.
  • Lead learning consultation and intake: challenge assumptions, recommend the right-sized approach, balance impact against learner needs, scalability, and cost, and know when a simpler solution will do.
  • Translate enterprise capability strategies, including manager development, AI education, business acumen, critical thinking, and team effectiveness, into high-quality experiences.
  • Delivery & Facilitation Excellence
  • Champion exceptional delivery and facilitation for every persona, from frontline employees and mid-level managers to senior executives and seasoned subject matter experts, across in-person, virtual, and digital environments and every region.
  • Ensure global faculty and business liaisons are equipped to deliver consistently and with impact, and hold the standard for executive-level facilitation personally, with the credibility to step into the room for the most senior audiences.
  • Treat the learner and sponsor experience as a service, from first touch to follow-through, and connect learner, facilitator, and sponsor feedback back into product refinement.
  • Measurement, Evaluation & Operational Excellence
  • Partner with the company University Operations, Measurement & Evaluation, and technology teams to embed evaluation into product design and create visibility into effectiveness, adoption, and business value.
  • Use learner feedback, performance data, and emerging analytics to decide what to build, refresh, scale, and retire.
  • Build scalable practices, reusable assets, and AI-enabled workflows that raise throughput, and own the organization's budget, external partners, agencies, and creative technology investments.
  • People & Organizational Leadership
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary organization of leaders and their teams across facilitation, creative and learning experience design, and instructional design, building bench strength, development paths, and succession.
  • Foster a culture of creative excellence, critique, curiosity, accountability, and sound decision-making, and inspire the team and its partners by setting direction, removing obstacles, and modeling the creative-strategist combination the role demands.
  • Represent the company University's design, innovation, and delivery agenda in Enterprise Talent & Learning planning and in enterprise forums on the future of work and learning.
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in visual design, film, instructional design, learning sciences, educational technology, design, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, creative direction, learning experience design, digital product or content development, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years leading multidisciplinary teams, including managers and senior-level professionals, in a formal people-leadership role.
  • Proven record setting creative direction and leading the end-to-end design, production, and delivery of enterprise-scale learning or digital experiences across multiple modalities.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior executives and translating complex business needs into learning and performance solutions, with the consulting skill to challenge, shape, and sometimes decline requests.
  • Hands-on experience applying generative AI, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled workflows to learning, content, or talent solutions, as a practitioner and not only a sponsor.
  • Experience leading or working closely with a facilitation or faculty organization, and personal credibility presenting to and facilitating with executive audiences.
  • Experience partnering with measurement, analytics, operations, and technology teams, and owning budgets, agencies, and vendor relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of learning experience design, adult learning, behavior change, storytelling, visual and multimedia production, and learning technology ecosystems, including LMS, LXP, xAPI, and accessibility standards such as WCAG.
  • Working fluency with AI and creative production tools such as ElevenLabs, Synthesia or HeyGen, Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, generative image and video tools, and emerging agentic and automation platforms.
  • Exceptional consulting, strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, communication, and executive stakeholder management skills, with strong business acumen and sound judgment in ambiguity.
