Description

The company is building clean, high-temperature nuclear power that can be deployed quickly, produced in a factory, and run in real conditions. Its first pilot plant is in Orangeville, Utah, where advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication will be demonstrated.

You would join the Supply Chain group within Manufacturing. The group sources materials, equipment and supplier partnerships for manufacturing and business operations, balancing quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain should-cost models for components, assemblies and services, covering materials, labor, overhead and tooling for both direct and indirect categories, to inform sourcing and negotiation.
  • Work with Sourcing, Engineering and Finance to find the main cost drivers and the biggest savings across the supplier base.
  • Review supplier quotes, RFx responses and cost breakdowns to check prices, spot gaps against should-cost and benchmark data, and find negotiation leverage.
  • Give Sourcing and Engineering data-driven cost insight to support their negotiation strategy.
  • Assess make-vs-buy options and total cost of ownership as production scales.
  • Track changes in materials, labor and logistics costs, and update models to match market conditions.
  • Identify cost reductions from design, process or sourcing changes, and quantify the potential savings.
  • Present cost analysis and recommendations to Sourcing and Engineering leaders.
  • Maintain cost databases and tools, keeping them accurate and scalable as the product range grows.
  • Mentor people across the supply chain organization on cost drivers, market indices, design-to-cost implications, supplier economics and manufacturing trade-offs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, should-cost modeling or manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Solid grasp of BOM structures, specifications, engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
  • Hands-on use of cost modeling tools and ERP or sourcing systems.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving, turning data into recommendations you can act on.
  • Clear communication and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Preferred: experience in nuclear, aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Preferred: experience building a should-cost or cost engineering function from scratch.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Design-to-Cost or Value Engineering methods.
  • Preferred: experience at a startup or fast-growing company.

Conditions

Base salary of $140,000 to $190,000 USD.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary.
  • An equity stake in a fast-growing advanced energy company.
  • Comprehensive medical coverage.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Free lunch and dinner daily, provided onsite.
  • Generous PPE stipend.
  • A startup environment with major ownership and autonomy.
  • Fast career growth and internal promotion opportunities.
  • Working directly with experienced operators, engineers and industry leaders.
  • A chance to help build and scale transformative energy technology from the ground up.
