Description

The company built the first GPU in 1999, which helped drive PC gaming, changed computer graphics, and advanced parallel computing. Deep learning on GPUs later launched the current wave of AI, and the company is now often called the AI computing company.

The Deep Learning and AI Compiler (DLC) team is hiring an AI and deep learning compiler engineer. Researchers and companies worldwide use GPUs for large language models, generative AI, recommendation systems, image classification, and speech recognition. The DLC serves as the core of the company's inference engine across data centers, personal devices, automotive, and robotics. It needs to deliver strong inference speed, fast builds, lower memory use, and easy use in both Ahead-of-Time and Just-in-Time modes. The compiler will be used across the deep learning community.

Responsibilities

  • Study deep learning networks and build compiler optimization algorithms.
  • Work with deep learning framework teams and GPU architecture teams to speed up the next generation of deep learning software.
  • Define public APIs, analyze and optimize performance, and design and implement compiler techniques for AI workloads and future the company GPUs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of work or research experience in performance analysis and compiler optimization.
  • Experience with compiler technologies such as MLIR, LLVM, XLA, or Triton.
  • Strong C/C++ and Python skills, including software design, debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
  • Ability to work independently, set project goals and scope, and lead your own development work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, product-focused team.
  • Optional: knowledge of CPU and/or GPU architecture, and CUDA or OpenCL programming experience.
  • Optional: understanding of deep learning models, algorithms, and frameworks such as PyTorch and JAX.
  • Optional: GPU kernel authoring and performance analysis with tools such as Nsight Compute.
  • Optional: a record of mentoring early-career engineers and interns.
  • Optional: experience bringing up new hardware.
