Description

The company supports the Department of the Air Force's Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) program, which moves Air Force and Space Force IT from in-house, base-based delivery to an enterprise service model.

The company provides an IT management system, an IT storefront, an enterprise help desk, local field services, and lifecycle support for end-user devices, using current technology and industry practices to deliver commercial-style services to the global workforce.

You will join the IT systems engineering team on the ACAS operations resolution and modernization teams, building, troubleshooting, improving, and maintaining a new Tenable architecture for the Department of the Air Force in an Azure cloud environment.

You will work with the ACAS solution architect, chief architect, and chief engineer on the solution and report to the ACAS project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Build, improve, and maintain the cloud infrastructure for the Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), covering Azure infrastructure with Azure Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, Red Hat Linux, Tenable software for ACAS, and scripting in Python, PowerShell, and other languages as needed.
  • Investigate issues and troubleshoot them to find their root causes.
  • Help build the project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with the ACAS engineering lead.
  • Identify technical improvements and efficiencies in continuous improvement work and project execution.
  • Design and roll out better processes and practices.
  • Create topology and flow diagrams with technical staff on the team.
  • Prepare solution presentations and brief them to internal, program, and engineering teams.
  • Write automation scripts and make code more efficient.
  • Run and maintain an enterprise Red Hat Linux operating infrastructure integrated with RHEL Satellite and RHEL Ansible.
  • Deploy and maintain Kubernetes containers in Azure and VMware hypervisors.
  • Meet the annual performance objectives: pass every internal Department of the Air Force gate review without rejection, whiteboard the solution ad hoc with the project team without referring to existing materials, and implement one process improvement each quarter.

Requirements

  • You must hold an active Secret security clearance.
  • You need 12+ years of relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in an applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of this experience.
  • You need 7+ years of cloud experience, with at least 5 years of direct hands-on work. Azure experience is preferred.
  • Azure Administrator or Developer certification, or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience with Tenable products.
  • 3+ years deploying, automating, and hardening Red Hat Linux operating systems.
  • 3+ years working directly with Kubernetes or containers.
  • 3+ years securing systems against STIGs, best practices, and government and compliance requirements such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FISMA, and FedRAMP, working with IA personnel to reach practical, effective solutions.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense.
  • Strong communication skills, including briefing internal project team members and DAF stakeholders.
  • One of the following certifications: CISSP, or an equivalent DoD 8140 certification compliance.
