Senior Principal Software Developer

Description

The company is hiring a senior principal software developer for a mission-critical program supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

You will join a development team that builds software under defined processes such as Agile, working in a rapid development setting that supports national security missions.

Responsibilities

• Follow defined software processes such as Agile and contribute to a development team working in a rapid build cycle.
• Design, write, and unit test front-end and back-end code for integrated systems in HTML, CSS, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, and related packages.
• Write integration code that links systems and services together.
• Build solutions based on open standards and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) that support interoperability across service-based architectures.
• Help develop and configure database systems.
• Investigate, repair, and document Discrepancy Reports (DRs) on systems.
• Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile meetings to help the team meet delivery goals.
• Work with program stakeholders so development matches business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Required: An active Top Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain and keep SCI access and pass a polygraph.
• Required: A bachelor's degree in any field, or 7 additional years of relevant information technology experience in place of a degree.
• Required: Hands-on work with HTML, CSS, C++, C, Java, and JavaScript.
• Required: A track record of designing, coding, and unit testing both front-end and back-end solutions for integrated systems.
• Desired: A technical certification such as Network+, Security+, Oracle, or one focused on software development or cloud computing.
• Desired: An AWS Certified Solutions Architect credential at Associate level or higher, or an equivalent AWS certification.
• Desired: Experience with Momentum Financials (Unison/CGI) systems.
• Desired: Specific experience supporting NGA or other NGA/IC customer environments.

Conditions

This is a full-time, regular position.

A Top Secret clearance is required to start.

No travel is required, and any travel is local.

Salary depends on factors including location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $103,800 - $218,100.
