Senior Cloud Engineer (all genders)

You join a Berlin data studio within an international team of about 2,500 experts.

The role is hands-on, with real ownership of cloud architecture, automation and day-to-day operations.

You will work with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable cloud solutions and keep improving performance, security and cost.

Responsibilities

• Give technical leadership, architecture advice and best practices to engineers and clients.
• Investigate complex production problems across infrastructure, networking and applications.
• Carry out cloud project tasks such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure validation and application validation.
• Design, build and maintain cloud systems covering data storage, observability, security policies, compliance and access.
• Recommend ways to improve performance and reduce cost for cloud work in the project.
• Change, improve and build applications that run on existing or new cloud infrastructure.
• Keep high availability and disaster recovery in place, and write clear documentation.
• Talk with stakeholders to understand their needs and advise them on the options.
• Teach and support other engineers as new cloud technologies and initiatives are adopted.

Requirements

• A completed degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent qualification, plus proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Developer, DevOps Engineer or similar.
• Proven experience planning, implementing and managing Azure infrastructure.
• Experience managing stakeholders and working in direct contact with clients.
• Experience giving technical leadership and explaining technical concepts to clients.
• Solid understanding of Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Active Directory.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (for example Terraform or ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Strong grasp of cloud security concepts and best practices.
• Full professional proficiency in German and English, at C1 level minimum.
