Senior C++ Engineer (Desktop Applications)

The company builds large-scale desktop software for the medical domain.

The role centres on performance optimization, stability work, modernizing legacy systems, and building high-quality desktop applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-quality desktop application components in modern C++.
• Design multithreading and concurrency solutions that scale.
• Find and fix performance bottlenecks in complex desktop systems.
• Help modernize and refactor legacy codebases.
• Work with architects, QA engineers and product teams to deliver stable, efficient solutions.
• Contribute to debugging, software quality and system stability work.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to streamline workflows and speed up implementation.
• Take part in technical discussions, code reviews and engineering best practice initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial C++ software development experience.
• Strong command of modern C++ standards, including C++14, C++17 and C++20.
• Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, debugging and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience building desktop applications.
• Practical experience with Qt.
• Experience working with Make, Conan and MSVC.
• Experience integrating CEF.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
• A plus: experience with AI-assisted coding tools and development workflows.
• A plus: experience working in regulated software environments.
• A plus: a technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• A plus: German language skills.
