Description

The company builds simple, flexible APIs and developer tools that make privacy and user ownership the default, letting developers build new products on crypto rails.

The team owns the abstraction and infrastructure layer above wallets. The work spans multiple chains, third-party providers and the company products such as Treasury and Link, and reaches customers including Ramp, Klarna, Deel, Kraken, Hyperliquid and Fomo, serving both mainstream users and crypto natives.

Engineering moves fast, with very small iterations shipped quickly to learn quickly. Customers are developers, so engineers often act as the product manager and need real technical depth. Trust is central to the product, so every engineer designs with security in mind from the start, alongside a dedicated security team.

The stack is deliberately conventional, with Node, React and AWS, so engineering effort goes into the hard parts: hardware enclaves, multi-region low-latency APIs, and blockchain abstractions that mainstream developers can use.

You will lead, grow and shape high-performing engineering teams. Your main goal is to drive the success of the business as a whole, and you own your team's impact on the product and the business.

Infrastructure is treated as a product. Its consumers are internal engineers, and increasingly non-engineers, as well as external customers. The infra team builds strong abstractions, helps the wider company ship better software, and runs efficient tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term outcomes of the team and their effect on the product and the business.
  • Shape the future direction of infrastructure with experienced infra engineers, covering secure enclaves (TEEs) and one-click Bring Your Own Cloud deployments, with performance and high scale built in from the start.
  • Set and enforce high standards for quality, throughput and performance.
  • Lead active infrastructure work across the company, including service design, reliability engineering and developer tooling.
  • Decide what the team works on, tie choices to business impact, and manage the team's interfaces with the rest of the organisation.
  • Work as a player-coach: review pull requests, write and review design docs, and dig into incidents to stay close to the code and support a builder culture.
  • Help engineers grow and reach their career goals.
  • Build a supportive, motivating and celebratory team culture that helps the team win every week.

Requirements

  • A strong sense of ownership and a big-picture view of business impact.
  • A performance-driven approach with a high bar for quality.
  • Enough technical depth to assess quality and give sound technical feedback yourself.
  • High emotional maturity, sharp insight and genuine care for people.
  • Significant past experience managing and leading teams.
  • Preferred: experience designing and running systems that serve hundreds of millions of users.
  • Preferred: experience with secure enclave platforms such as AWS Nitro Enclaves.
  • Preferred: experience with observability, incident response, capacity planning, performance tuning and infrastructure automation, including IaC and CI/CD for infrastructure.
  • Preferred: experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems for trading or payment processing.
  • Preferred: experience with public cloud or Bring Your Own Cloud architectures, in any combination.

Conditions

The role is an engineering management position on the infrastructure team.
