Senior Bridge Engineer

Description

The role sits in a senior bridge and structural engineering team at a global infrastructure consulting firm that works across water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings for public and private clients.

You will act as the technical advisor for the team and give specialist input on studies and designs in your area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Advise the team on technical matters and provide specialist input to studies and designs in your discipline.
• Write study and design procedures that help others produce high quality, cost effective work.
• Take part in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Estimate construction costs and the technical effort needed for projects.
• Apply your expertise at every stage of the discipline's part of the PS&E package.
• Check design calculations and drawings as part of quality control.
• Write technical specification sections.
• Contribute to the engineering budget and schedule so requirements are met.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is mandatory.
• A master's degree in structural or bridge engineering is desirable.
• More than 10 years of experience in bridge and structural engineering.
• Deep expertise in designing and analysing reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel and composite bridges.
• Advanced skill with bridge analysis and FEA software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, SOFiSTiK or similar.
• Experience taking projects through several design stages, from concept through detailed design to construction support.
• A strong grasp of international design codes and sound engineering practice.
• Clear communication and the ability to work well in multidisciplinary, international teams.
• A proactive approach, strong problem solving, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• High proficiency in English, spoken and written.
