Senior Application Engineer

Description

You will be the main technical contact for new nuclear plant customers in Poland and other European countries before they sign the contract for site-specific design. The role reports to the Technical Sales Director.

You will assess which candidate sites suit the standard reactor design and work out what changes that design needs for each project. You will also work across levels of the organization to keep the product matched to what customers expect.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer, country, and site requirements for each prospective project and adapt the standard design to fit them.
• Coordinate site layouts, external hazard screenings, and preliminary heat balances across company engineering teams, outside partners, and customers.
• Build delivery schedules, cost estimates, and frameworks that define project responsibilities, keeping technical work aligned from design through commercial operation.
• Present engineering, fuel, and services capabilities in senior customer meetings, turning technical needs into clear business value.
• Analyse customer development plans and competitor data, and work with Sales and Product Line Management to strengthen our offering.
• Serve as the subject matter expert, explaining the technology and solutions to customers to build trust.

Requirements

• Required: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).
• Required: significant experience in application or sales engineering, construction project management, or similar large-scale project work with a strong customer focus.
• Required: excellent written and spoken English and Polish, including technical terminology.
• Required: ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, mainly within Poland.
• Preferred: field experience on new nuclear power plant projects.
• Preferred: knowledge of nuclear power systems, controls, equipment, and international nuclear regulatory frameworks.
• Preferred: a proven record of influencing stakeholders and building networks that improve project efficiency.
• Nice to have: a further STEM bachelor's or master's degree, though total experience and professional achievements matter more.
• Essential: you live in Poland and have unrestricted legal authorization to work there.
• Essential: you must be a citizen of a country on the U.S. Department of Energy's List of Generally Authorized Countries (10 CFR Part 810 Appendix A), unless a specific authorization is obtained.
