Description

The company is hiring a Senior AI Frameworks Engineer to work on C++ and Python.

CUTLASS is an open-source project, started in 2017, that provides C++ template abstractions for writing custom GEMM and related computations that run efficiently on the company GPUs.

The team is building a Python interface for it, called Pythonic CUTLASS (CUTLASS DSL), to bring high GPU performance and strong abstractions to Python developers.

Responsibilities

  • As a core contributor, you will use systems programming and API design skills to make GPU programming and kernel delivery easier for developers.
  • Design APIs that feel natural to developers who already use scientific computing and deep learning frameworks, with a focus on productivity.
  • Build compilation infrastructure, including AST transformations and JIT-friendly execution, that turns Python descriptions into fast GPU machine code.
  • Create debugging tools, profiler integrations, and validation methods that make it simpler to write and use kernels.
  • Build production-grade delivery for the open-source community, covering package distribution (wheels and conda), user documentation, and testing.

Requirements

  • An MS or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong Python and C++ skills, especially in designing Python extensions and foreign function interfaces (FFI).
  • Experience building libraries or frameworks with intuitive APIs for complex technical systems.
  • A deep understanding of the Python packaging ecosystem, including building, testing, and distributing compiled extensions.

Conditions

Hiring for an existing vacancy. Applications will be accepted at least until November 3, 2026.
