Description

The company is building clinical data services that support its clinical trials, and this lead role helps shape them.

The work is hands-on: you design and build serverless data pipelines on AWS that take in data from external partners, transform and harmonize it to meet regulatory requirements, and deliver it accurately and on time for submissions.

The role supports faster delivery of new therapies to patients.

You bring deep software development and cloud engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship production services on AWS using Python, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Own the technical design decisions from data ingestion through transformation to submission-ready delivery.
  • Solve hard problems in scale, performance, reliability, and data correctness.
  • Set the engineering standard through code review, testing, and CI/CD practices, and keep the platform secure and current.
  • Assess the current architecture and help build a practical roadmap that reduces complexity and speeds up delivery.
  • Work with product managers to turn unclear requirements into concrete technical solutions that can be built.
  • Lead a small team of engineers through design reviews, mentoring, and technical direction, without adding heavy process.

Requirements

  • Strong software development experience, including production Python.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Lambda, Step Functions (including Map States), DynamoDB, S3, and IAM.
  • Experience with deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid grasp of SDLC methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on your own.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Nice to have: experience with modern data platform concepts and technologies.
  • Nice to have: vendor management skills.
  • Nice to have: experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Nice to have: experience with GxP validation, particularly in GCP (Good Clinical Practice).
  • Nice to have: knowledge of clinical data standards, CDISC SDTM and ADaM.
  • Nice to have: experience working in a product team.
  • Nice to have: experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Terraform.
