SAP iXp Intern - CPIT CFA AI Engineer

Description

You will join the iXp Intern - CPIT CFA AI Engineer role, based in Budapest, Hungary.

The team works with product and solution units to add AI to the company's existing products, using machine learning engineering and tools from the company's own product portfolio.

Your work will build models that are deployed as scalable production APIs on the company's business technology platform and embedded directly into business processes, using the company's AI software as a service.

You will be part of a global team within the IT delivery unit.

The company has over 50 years of experience in enterprise applications and business AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents that plan, reason and carry out multi-step tasks on their own, using large language models, tool-use frameworks and the company's business AI capabilities.
• Test agent use cases through proofs of concept, measuring task completion accuracy, latency, cost and safety guardrails before they are ready for production.
• Help explore new AI and technology trends that fit the company's strategic direction.
• Learn Agile and other software development life cycle methods, and take part in design, coding, testing and production release.

Requirements

• Be an active student at a university, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Have solid hands-on skills in Python, Java or JavaScript, and React.js.
• Keep up with AI industry trends.
• Be familiar with emerging interoperability protocols such as MCP (Model Context Protocol) or A2A (Agent-to-Agent).
• Have hands-on experience with, or good exposure to, prompt engineering, data pipelines and coding standards for LLM application development.
• Have exposure to at least one agent orchestration framework, such as LangGraph, LangChain or an equivalent. This is a plus.
• Communicate well in English, both written and spoken.
• Solve and explore problems on your own, and work well in a team.
• Be familiar with agentic AI patterns, including tool use, ReAct loops, planning, memory management and multi-step task orchestration.
• Be familiar with agile development approaches and tools.

Conditions

The role is a full-time internship, 5 days a week.

The start date is January 2027, for a minimum of 6 months.

The location is Budapest, Hungary.

Successful candidates may need to pass a background check run by an external vendor.
