Description

The team recruits healthy volunteers for Phase I research studies. The company has supported 50 of the top pharmaceutical companies, more than 750 biotechs and 2,700 clinical trials across 100+ countries over the past 5 years.

As the research team recruiter, you find and enrol volunteers for Phase I studies, and you give the informed consent session when the Principal Investigator delegates it to you.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare every required form and record, including source documents, lab requisitions, clinical labels and physical paperwork, so that each protocol's inclusion and exclusion criteria are captured accurately.
  • Review each protocol for its study-specific inclusion and exclusion details. Flag gaps and discuss them with the Team Leader and Project Manager until the criteria are clear.
  • Plan screenings and physicals by deciding how many to hold and when, based on team and staffing needs. Tell the Senior Research Technician staff the screening times so they can cover the procedures.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before each screening with complete paperwork for the number of participants expected.
  • Read the latest approved Informed Consent aloud while volunteers follow their own copies.
  • Confirm that each screened person has been consented, has signed the form and has had all questions answered before any procedure or further screening step.
  • Make sure every participant's paperwork is complete and accurately reflects their screening. Keep all subject and screening-failure records with the study to meet FDA requirements.
  • Have a physician review clinical labs, ECGs and other tests where required.
  • Build screening tools and source documents that check every inclusion and exclusion criterion, such as medical history, physical exam, demographics, admission, alcohol and tobacco use, screening log, sign-in sheet and volunteer tracking forms. Check the computerized phone-screening tool for accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school or secondary school diploma, or an equivalent, plus any relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
  • Technical roles may require a certificate.
  • At least 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience. Years of experience are not the only factor used to set the job level or select candidates.
  • You have managed several responsibilities and finished projects at work or in school.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain information to many kinds of people and to speak to an audience.
  • You can work calmly with many types of people, including in difficult or uncomfortable situations.
  • You solve problems well, pay close attention to detail and plan and organise several tasks across several study groups at once.
  • You manage your time effectively.
  • You are able and willing to learn to give investigational drugs or test investigational devices, by oral, intravenous, topical or other approved methods.
